Jahangirabad was founded at the same time as Anupshahr by the same Babu Banarasi Das Bansal, who saved so many peoples life when they were in need. For displaying such a courage, Babu Banarasi Das ruled over 84 villages and on their heart in Jagir, lying on either side of the Ganges, and the title of Babu Banarasi Das.
Babu Banarasi Das named the town after the Emperor and Jahangirabad was as a matter of fact, built first, the Babu Banarasi Das moving its headquarters to Anupshahr at a later date. It has two government school and a government hospital. Mostly people of Jahangirabad is engaged in their shops business as it has a huge 2 km long market. The nearby college to Jahangirabad is RDPD GIRLS PG College and RDPD Institute of higher education. Jahangirabad has the second largest naveen mandi of rice and wheat of Uttar Pradesh.
