'''Skew Siskin''' are a German [[hard rock]] band best known for their 1992 song [[If The Walls Could Talk]], which was a minor hit on [[MTV]].

Fronted by [[Nina C. Alice]], Siskin have been through many lineup changes over their career with [[Jim Voxx]] being the only other consistent member. Siskin have released six studio albums and one compilation album in their career since 1992.

== Biography ==

Kevin Russell grew up as the youngest of three children (one sister and one brother). His father, originally from Britain, worked at this time as a pilot for [[Lufthansa]]. His mother was an alcoholic, which had a negative impact on family conditions. Russell sporadically attended sixth-form high school, but exited without graduating. He finally tried to graduate by spending a year taking vocational classes in an electrician-training school.

In 1977 he and his family moved from Hamburg to [[Hösbach]]. There he became acquainted with [[Peter Schorowsky]] and [[Stephan Weidner]]. Together they founded the band "Böhse Onkelz".

Russell worked as a mechanic on a ship, and later in the tattoo studio of his friend.

His characteristic is his very rough and brutal voice.

The idea was a hidden camera show where a member of the public would enter into an agreement to be filmed for a whole weekend with the task of convincing their friends and family a character being played by [[Marc Wootton]] was their new best friend. Their reward being a prize of £10,000. What made the game difficult was Marc's character constantly embarrassing them in front of their family and friends to extreme levels, but they had to agree and go along to everything he said. [[Marc Wootton]]'s characters were chosen for different episodes to make them as different from the contestant as possible to make it difficult for their friends and family to be convinced.

Once they have made it through the weekend the cameras capture the moment where Marc gives them the money and leaves the scene. The contestant is left to explain the whole situation was a TV program and a game to win £10,000 to their friends and family.

Sasha is a rich and arrogant snob who thinks he can buy friends and love. Matt has to put up with him for the weekend, highlights include Sasha offering money for sex off Matt's close female friend and making Matt march round the coffee table for an hour to the tune "The Grand Old Duke of York". In a bizarre twist Sasha sets the task to repeat the song 4 times and missing out various up's and down's in the lyrics in a seemingly impossible routine that Matt cannot get right much to both of their frustrations. This is arguably the funniest scene and episode of the series. Matt is the only contestant of the series not to win the money. The final straw was Sasha telling Matt's parents that they were planning to go to a resort in the Philippines where they would eat women.

Gary is an intimidating , aggressive man. Emma must put up with him for a whole weekend. She then ended up telling her friends she was going to star in a pornographic film and ended up in a staged drugs deal which her friends could not believe.

==German adaption==
In the German adaption of the show, "Mein neuer Freund", former MTV-VJ Christian Ulmen plays Marc Wootton's part. Some of the characters played by Ulmen are exactly the same as in "My new best friend":

* "Jürgen" ("Gary")
* "Marcel" ("Simon")
* "Alexander von Eich" ("Sasha")
Other characters are:
* "Uwe", a childish nerd with lots of allergies, similar to "Daniel"
* "Martina", who used to be "Martin" in his earlier life. The male candidate has to tell his friends and family, that Martina has been his best buddy in old school days and that he fell in love with him/her, after Martin turned into Martina
* "Collin", an American-German schizo freak who constantly wants to contact aliens
* "Ecke", a pot smoking good-for-nothing
* "Knut", a singer-songwriter-entertainer-painter (who really has no idea of any of these things), hates to wash himself and loves corny jokes
The audience ratings were pretty low so that "ProSieben" (the TV station) dropped the show after having broadcast only one episode. But a devoted fan community emerging from the internet addressed a petition in order to bring "Mein neuer Freund" back on the screen - and succeeded. It was the first time in German TV that such a thing happened.

The '''Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station''' is a [[nuclear decommissioning|decommissioned]] [[nuclear power plant]] built by the [[Sacramento Municipal Utility District]] (SMUD) in [[Clay Station, California]].

This 2772 MWt [[Babcock and Wilcox]] pressurized water reactor (913 MWe) achieved initial criticality on [[16 September]] [[1976]] and entered commercial operation on [[17 April]] [[1977]]. The plant operated from April 1975 to June 1989 but had a lifetime capacity average of only 39%; it was closed by public vote on [[7 June]] [[1989]] (despite the fact that its operating license does not expire until [[11 October]] [[2008]]) after multiple referendums and the promise of ten years of subsidized power from the [[Diablo Canyon Power Plant]]. [[As of 2005]], decommissioning activities are underway.

In 1966, SMUD purchased {{convert|2100|acre|km2|0}} in southeast [[Sacramento County, California|Sacramento County]] for a nuclear power plant, which was built in Clay Station, {{convert|25|mi|km|0}} south-east of downtown Sacramento.

In the early 1970s, a small pond was expanded to a {{convert|160|acre|km2|1|sing=on}} lake to serve as an emergency backup water supply (in case of fire) for the Rancho Seco power generating station. The lake has always received its water from the Folsom South Canal and has no relationship with the power plant's daily water supply. Surrounding the lake is {{convert|400|acre|km2|1}} of recreational area originally operated by the County of Sacramento for day-use activities.

After its closure in 1989, the plant grounds were converted into a public park, whose operations were assumed by SMUD in 1992. SMUD now uses the park-generated revenues to fund all park-related operating costs. In cooperation with the Nature Conservancy, SMUD dedicated in June 2006 the Howard Ranch Nature Trail, a seven-mile (11 km) long trail that follows riparian and marsh habitat along Rancho Seco Lake and the adjoining Howard Ranch that once belonged to the owner of the famous racehorse [[Seabiscuit]].

The park is now also managed by the [[California Department of Water Resources]], and the now-empty towers remain a prominent part of the local landscape. Also scattered through out the area are the still active [[air raid siren]]s that at one time would have warned people of [[nuclear meltdown]]. Additions to SMUD's Rancho Seco property have included massive solar installations and, more recently, the natural gas-fired Cosumnes Power Plant, brought online in 2006.

On [[20 March]] [[1978]] a failure of power supply for the plant's non-nuclear instrumentation system led to steam generator dryout. (ref NRC LER 312/78-001). In an on-going study (ref [http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/commission/secys/2005/secy2005-0192/attachment2.pdf NRC Commission Document SECY-05-0192 Attachment 2] [http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/commission/secys/2005/secy2005-0192/2005-0192scy.html]) of "precursors" that could lead to a nuclear disaster if additional failures were to have occurred, the NRC concluded (as of 24-Oct-2005) that this event at Rancho Seco was the third highest ranked occurrence (second highest if one omits the event at the [[Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station]]).

When the reactor was at power, a failure of the NNI power supply resulted in a loss of main feedwater, which caused a reactor trip. Because instrumentation drift falsely indicated that the steam generator contained enough water, control room operators did not take prompt action to open the EFW flow control valves to establish secondary heat removal. This resulted in steam generator dryout.

'''Jordan Mechner''' (born 1964) is a [[game programmer]], [[game designer]], and [[movie director]]. Mechner was born in [[New York, New York|New York City]] and graduated from [[Yale University]] in 1985.

Mechner's first hit game was ''[[Karateka (computer game)|Karateka]]'' (1984), written while he was still an undergraduate. ''[[Prince of Persia]],'' released in 1989, was noted for its fluid [[computer animation|animation]] of human figures. Both titles were published by [[Brøderbund]]. For the animations used in ''Prince of Persia'', Mechner spent days studying [[video]]s and photographs of his brother [[David Mechner|David]] running and jumping and meticulously replicated the actions in the game.

In 1993, he formed Smoking Car Productions, an [[video game developer|entertainment software development group]] based in

I noticed that you deleted [[:Image:BlusterKong.jpg]]. Based on the guideline you cited, I am under the impression that you deleted it because it was not used in any articles at that point. The gameplay is much like the original game but with a few major differences. The Prince can dual wield weapons and throw his secondary weapon. He also has the ability to perform several combos and charge attacks. In addition, the Prince can use the environment to his advantage, such as by bouncing off of walls to attack enemies. This is because of Ubisoft's new gameplay system called the "Free-Form Fighting" system.

Because the Prince escaped his fate, the Dahaka is sent to ensure that the Prince dies and thus restore order to the Timeline.

Seeking counsel from an [[Allies from the Prince of Persia series#The Old Man|old wise man]], the Prince learns of the existence of the Island of Time - birthplace of the Sands of Time, governed by the Empress of Time. Thinking only of himself and his survival, the Prince sets sail for the Island to prevent the Sands of Time from ever being created. His belief is that if the Sands are not created then the Dahaka will have no reason to hunt him.

Many obstacles attempt to prevent the Prince from reaching the Island and his goal. First, his ship is attacked by an army led by a mysterious woman in black named [[Enemies from the Prince of Persia series#Shahdee|Shahdee]]. The Prince faces her and during the ensuing combat she manages to throw him overboard; his ship sinks and his entire crew perishes; however, the Prince manages to survive and drifts ashore on the Island.

Wandering further into the island, he re-encounters [[Shahdee]], whom he pursues deep into the fortress of the Island. By doing so, he accidentally steps into one of the many Portals of the fortress, which connects the present with the past. Continuing his pursuit into the Past, he finds her trying to murder an unknown woman in red named [[Allies from the Prince of Persia series#Kaileena|Kaileena]]. The Prince engages Shahdee once more in battle, kills her, and saves [[Kaileena]].

Denied an audience with the Empress of Time to state his case, the Prince is then faced with the task of activating two towers, which in time will open the doors to the Empress' Throne Room. Kaileena aids the Prince by presenting to him the Serpent Sword, which will activate the bridges to reach both towers, and eventually the Lion Sword, an even more powerful weapon than the Serpent Sword. As the Prince explores the island, he occasionally encounters a mysterious, dark-looking creature. Shortly before reaching the throne room, the Prince is attacked by the Dahaka (which, until this point, had only been encountered in the present) and almost killed, but the dark creature rushes in and is killed in his place. The Dahaka then leaves without attacking the Prince. The Prince eventually succeeds in reaching the Throne Room only to discover that Kaileena is the Empress of Time. She had sent Shahdee to kill the Prince, sent him on the perilous journey to the towers, and even cursed the Lion Sword - yet the Prince did not die.

Kaileena is also trying to defy her fate. She has seen hers in the Timeline, which is to die at the hands of the Prince. Therefore, her only concern is to get rid of him at any cost. Shahdee, feeling that her mission to help save Kaileena was foolish, illogical, and futile, had turned against her only to be killed by the Prince.

The Prince reluctantly fights and kills Kaileena. He returns to the present, hoping that he has escaped his fate, but soon discovers that when he killed Kaileena, the Sands of Time were spawned from her body. Realizing that he has caused the event he intended to prevent, the Prince begins to lose hope, but soon discovers the Mask of the Wraith, which is said to have the power to make its wearer coexist in the same timeline. When he puts on the mask, he transforms into the Sand Wraith, the dark creature he saw earlier. The time portals have a greater effect on him in this state, causing him to relive the events of the past as the Wraith (and see his encounters with the Wraith from the opposite perspective). When he reaches the point at which the Wraith saved the Prince from the Dahaka, he instead lets the Dahaka kill the "other" Prince, causing the mask to fall off and him to return to the position he was in just before he entered the Throne Room.

The Prince decides that he may not be able to avoid killing Kaileena, but if he kills her in the present rather than the past, the Sands will not be created until after he had used them, thereby escaping his fate. The Prince confronts Kaileena again and forces her through a time portal into the present. At this point the ending forks, depending on whether or not the Prince has found all of the health upgrades and acquired his ultimate weapon, the Water Sword.

[[Jordan Mechner]], creator of the Prince of Persia character, had worked on The Sands of Time, though not on Warrior Within. He made a statement about the game appearing in ''[[Wired Magazine]]'', December 2005: "I'm not a fan of the artistic direction, or the violence that earned it an M rating. The story, character, dialog, voice acting, and visual style were not to my taste." His absence in the game's production was a likely reason for the drastic changes.

Critical reviews of ''Warrior Within'' were generally positive, though not as positive as ''[[Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time]]''. It was commonly agreed amongst popular reviewers that the platforming and adventure elements of the game were equal to, or exceeded, those of its predecessor.

The revamped combat system and better integration of combat sequences into the gameplay were also praised. Lastly, Warrior Within contained more raw content than ''[[Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time]]'' - taking anywhere from 12-16 hours to complete.

''Prince of Persia: Warrior Within'' was a radical stylistic departure from ''The Sands of Time''. Most criticism of the game centered around this departure, as the core platforming gameplay is virtually untouched.

The main reason behind the change was cited by [[Ubisoft]] as an attempt to garner a wider audience for the title. While ''[[Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time]]'' met with critical acclaim, it also met with lackluster sales. [[Ubisoft]] revamped the appearance of the series for a broader appeal, which increased sales, but decreased acclaim.

* The Prince, who was charming and cheerful yet unsure of himself and his abilities in ''The Sands of Time'', has become a generic ''tough guy'' or ''[[anti-hero]]''. He has new tattoos and a more aggressive attitude to show this. For example, near the beginning of the game, when sliced across the face by Shahdee, the Prince yells out "you bitch!". Another time as the Sandwraith when the Dahaka chases the Wraith out of the library the Wraith slashes one of the Dahakha's tendrils. He yelled out "Die, You Bastard!". During certain attacks the Prince will roar, not an awful insult but it does give clues as to how much the Prince has changed. He will also yell out taunts during combat such as "Is that the best you have to offer?"
* Increased levels of blood and gore. In ''The Sands of Time'', the player fights creatures which seem dehydrated because of the Sands, making them unable to bleed. In ''Warrior Within'' the creatures remain much more true to their original forms, meaning they spew blood when they are struck.

When the prince is not engaged in any fights, or solving a puzzle, the player can hear some well-orchestrated music that reflects the (usually quiet and lonely) environment, especially in the beginning of the game and the garden waterworks area. When the Prince engages in a fight with multiple enemies, the music changes to a hard rock track, which again reflects the environment and the type of enemies faced. Every time a [[boss (video games)|boss]], such as the Empress or the Griffin, is fought, the music is more traditional than hard rock.

Ubisoft contests that these most changes were meant to reflect the Prince's starkly different personality.

The game also received criticism for uneven difficulty progression and numerous [[glitch]]es and [[software bug|bugs]]:

* Players have encountered a glitch dubbed the “Wraith glitch”, wherein the player is turned into the Sand Wraith character too early, usually in the chapter "Fate's Dark Hand". The skin appears similar to that of a corpse.
* The same glitch will also occasionally happen in reverse, crashing in a similar fashion before reverting the Sand Wraith to the Prince. In both cases, the player must start over, unless they have an earlier save file.
* A glitch in the Mechanical Tower can sometimes be found, where the bridge the Prince must raise to gain access to the lever that activates the tower will not rise properly or at all. This can almost always be avoided by doing the Mechanical Tower first.
* A cut scene in the "Southern Passage" does not occur. This cut scene opens a hole in a wall. If the cut scene does not occur, the hole does not appear and the player must revert to a previously saved game.
* While attempting to gain what is usually accepted as the last life upgrade; it is generally called the "Dahaka Hole" glitch.
* In "The Empress" there is also a glitch which happens when the Empress of Time breaks the wall and the player is skipped to "The Face of Time".
* In the Xbox, Gamecube and Windows version of the game, the sound in cut scenes (voice acting, music and sound effects) will sometimes either not be synchronized with the action, or not be present at all.
* At the end of the game: in the time portal room before the final combat, the sand portal sometimes fails to activate when the Prince is in it. Even with an earlier save file, the game must be started over. This "sand portal" glitch is caused by going back through a sand portal that you have already used, so if you want to avoid this glitch don't go through a sand portal more than once.
* A glitch when fighting Kaileena for a second time can be encountered under the right circumstances; if the Prince slows down time, then Kaileena slows down time, then the Prince rewinds time, then he will become four times faster than the game would normally allow, even faster than what fast forward time would allow. This glitch ruins the cutscenes in the battle, however, randomly facing and placing both the Prince and Kaileena.
* During the first encounter with a golem, at the beginning of the Mechanical Tower, the golem is sometimes invisible making it very hard (but not impossible) to defeat it.
* Occasionally, in the PC version of the game, after receiving sand powers in time portals, the game won't show the Prince drop to the ground, and the time goes back again to before. This is undone easily by going back in.
* A cut scene on the PS2 version is cut off when the prince asks Kaileena for her name. Her response is missed. This happens as Kaileena awaits your return so she can give you the Lion Sword.

But inspite of all these Untimely Glitches, Bugs and Changes, Warrior Within has had almost Double the sales Of Sands Of Time and has scored a rating of 9/10 by the Users of Gamespot. It is also regarded by many Gamespot and IGN users as the Best Game they ever played.

The GameCube version seems to suffer fewer of these glitches, as stated by Gamespot: "Some technical flaws in the Xbox and PlayStation 2 versions of the game also mar the experience somewhat. The Xbox version is prone to audio glitches. Certain sound effects get stuck, and, at other times, scenes that should have voice in them are cut off completely. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 2 version's flaws are graphical. As a result, the game has a slightly choppier frame rate than the other versions. While it's not enough to hinder gameplay or combat, it does detract a bit from an otherwise beautiful-looking game. There was no notice of any sound or frame rate issues with the GameCube version of Warrior Within, however."

Ubisoft has released no patches to address these issues, nor offered any other solution.

===Founding in the punk scene===
''Böhse Onkelz'' started out in November [[1980]] in [[Hösbach]] as a [[punk rock]] band heavily inspired by bands such as [[Sex Pistols]] and the [[Ramones]] by Stephan Weidner, Kevin Richard Russell and Peter Schorowsky.

The name is an incorrect spelling of "bad uncles" (the correct form would be ''böse Onkel''), which is [[German language|German]] [[baby talk]] for bad grown-ups. According to Weidner on their DVD release "20 Jahre: Live in Frankfurt", the name was created when the three founding members stole a sledge from some other teenagers, one of whom said "Hey, da sind die bösen Onkels schon wieder" (Hey, there come the bad uncles again).

The band kept its initial line-up until Matthias 'Gonzo' Röhr joined them in [[1981]]. Musically he was by far the most experienced of the group; he had been playing guitar for six years, and had played in other bands such as ''Antikörper''. Since Weidner played guitar, Matthias started out on bass, but they switched instruments before their first recordings for the punk sampler ''Soundtracks zum Untergang 2''. Initially, the band was active mainly in the region of [[Frankfurt|Frankfurt am Main]].

===Entering the skinhead scene===

''[[:de:Soundtracks zum Untergang|Soundtracks zum Untergang 2]]'' (''Soundtracks to the Downfall Vol. 2'') was a left-wing oriented punk sampler on which Böhse Onkelz featured in the band's first widely released recording. However, after the until then apolitical punk movement moved further to the left, the Onkelz lost interest in this subculture. [[Football (soccer)|"Fußball"]] became more important in their lives and with it, fights surrounding games accumulated.

Initially, the band considered themselves part of the (originally unpolitical) [[Oi!]] movement, but they underwent their first drift to the political right in the early 1980s. The gigs and demos that had been released until then appealed to their fans, who ranged from unpolitical to the extreme right. The release of the album ''[[Der nette Mann]]'' followed in [[1984]] on the right-wing rock label [[Rock-O-Rama Records|Rock-O-Rama]]. This album was [[Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien|indexed]] in September 1986 because of its violence-glorifying and sexist content. The album also contained the patriotic songs ''Stolz'' (''Proud'') and ''Deutschland'' (''Germany''), by which the Onkelz slowly gained cult status in the right-wing scene. ''Der nette Mann'' was copied numerous times to cassettes and thereby spread rapidly in the scene. Shortly after the release of the ''[[Mexico (album)|Mexico]]'' EP in late [[1985]] the band split with Rock-O-Rama.

After their split from the skinhead scene in 1986, the band proceeded without any distinguishable political motivation. The albums following also contained songs about drinking and violence, but were much richer musically and lyrically. Despite substantial problems caused by Russell's alcohol and heroin addictions, the band continued to work together.

On the 16th of June, 1990, the band's best common friend, Andreas "Trimmi" Trimborn, was stabbed to death during an incident in a bar located in Frankfurt's [[Sachsenhausen (Frankfurt am Main)|Sachsenhausen]] district. Only two days later Böse Onkelz supporters located the assailant, a "[[Bundeswehr]]" soldier whose father held a high military rank. The murderer was tried in court but released without sentence. The judge stated that the Böhse Onkelz band and entourage were known to be violent and that the stabbing was committed in self-defense. Even today, all witnesses sharply reject this claim that Trimmi threatened the killer and his companion, both of whom allegedly snorted cocaine just minutes before the incident, with a beer mug. Russell fell into a severe depression over the loss of his friend and tried to compensate his grief with drugs and alcohol. His substance abuse habits became so destructive that he almost died as a result. The songs ''Nur die besten sterben jung'' (''Only the best die young'') and ''Der Platz neben mir'' (''The place beside me'') are dedicated to and written in memory of Trimmi.

In 1992, without any marketing, the album ''[[Heilige Lieder]]'' rose to no. 5 on the German LP charts. Despite their increasing commercial success, the band was marked with the stigma of being a right-wing band till the end. During various xenophobia-related attacks, the media discovered the right-wing past of the band. Following some critical reports, the Onkelz were faced with substantial criticism, which among other things led to individual radio stations refusing to play Onkelz songs. Many outside observers simply didn't believe that the band had "seen the light" and instead considered their exit from the skinhead scene as a maneuver to avoid bans and prosecution. The band's reputation also suffered from several poorly researched articles written about them. As a reaction to this, Weidner wrote songs like ''Fahrt zur Hölle'' (''Go To Hell'') on [[Weiß & Schwarz|Weiß]] or ''Danke für Nichts'' (''Thanks for Nothing'') on ''[[Hier sind die Onkelz]]'' (''Here are the Unclez'').

Additionally, big department stores such as [[Media Markt]], World of Music (WOM) and [[Saturn (store)|Saturn]] refused to sell Onkelz albums. By the end of the 1990s, however, Media Markt and WOM took the albums back into their range of products. Only Saturn refused to sell them until the band's final album ''[[Adios (Böhse Onkelz album)|Adios]]'' in 2005 which, along with others of their later albums, was on top of the charts for several weeks. In the following years, the Onkelz repeatedly took positions against extremism of any kind and referred to themselves as outsiders with no political affiliation.

The band has a huge fan community and is one of the most successful German music groups. In [[1998]] they sold about 300,000 copies of the album ''[[Viva los tioz]]'' within the first 48 hours after release.

On 8 August, [[2003]], despite negative headlines, the Böhse Onkelz were chosen as supporting act to the [[The Rolling Stones|Rolling Stones]] for their concert in the [[AWD-Arena|Open Air Arena]] in the [[Hanover fairground]].

===The end of their career===

When the band's five year contract with Virgin ended in 2003, they found a new selling partner in the indie label [[SPV GmbH]] for their final album, ''Adios''. On 24 May, [[2004]] the Onkelz officially announced their retreat from the active music business. After the release of the album, a gig on the [[Wacken Open Air]] in August 2004 and the sold-out tour ''La Ultima'', the farewell show took place on 17th and 18th June 2005 at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz (in [[Lusatia]], Brandenburg) under the name ''Vaya con tioz'', to which approximately 120,000 fans came.

==Musical style==
The musical style of the Onkelz has changed several times. Originally they played punk, starting with the Demoalbum. Throughout their career, their music was stylistically similar to [[Heavy metal music|heavy metal]]. Fans think they distinguish themselves by being excluded from society because of their rage, which directly expresses what they are thinking. Russell's brutal vocals have also been a very distinctive part of the band's style.

===Topics of the songs===
At the beginning of most albums, the first song is some kind of a welcome, in which the Onkelz present themselves as the greatest in an ironic way. Often the band played with its reputation in the songs: they refer to a community feeling shared with the public from which the band and their fans experienced such a dissociation.

The band also frequently attacks its critics, because the band feels that it is treated in an unfair way. Therefore many songs are directed against the media, especially journalists, who are considered with all kinds of loathing and criticism. Furthermore, in earlier years the Onkelz sang various drunkard hymns like ''Heute trinken wir richtig'', ''Alkohol'' and ''Freibier''.

Beyond that, lyrics of later albums are occupied with the question of the meaning of life, as a passage in the text of ''Finde die Wahrheit'' shows: ''„Denn die Wege sind lang, und selbst der Tod ist nicht ihr Ende, wach endlich auf!"'' (''"For the paths are long, and even death isn't their end, wake up already!"''). Other songs with this topic are ''Wieder mal 'nen Tag verschenkt'', ''Stand der Dinge'', ''Das Problem bist Du'' and ''Dunkler Ort''. These questions probably arose during and through the trial of the murderer Andreas "Trimmi" Trimborn, mentioned above. This event was mentioned in several songs (''Nur die Besten sterben jung'', ''So geht's Dir (Deine Hölle)'', ''Das Messer und die Wunde'', ''Ganz egal'', and ''Der Platz neben mir'').

Other important topics addressed by the band's lyrics are individualism, self-finding and self-love. In the song ''Wenn Du wirklich willst'' are the lyrics ''„Sei Du selbst, steh zu Dir, die Wahrheit wird gelebt und nicht doziert. Du bist was Du warst und Du wirst sein was Du tust, beginne Dich zu lieben, und Du findest, was Du suchst"'' (''"Be yourself, stand for you, the truth is lived and is not taught. You are what you were and you will be what you do, begin to love yourself and you will find what you are searching for."''). Songs like ''Das Wunder der Persönlichkeit'', ''Mutier mit mir'', ''Ich mache was ich will'' und ''Ich bin wie ich bin'' refer strongly to that topic.

In later albums, the past is addressed again and again, whereby it often concerns the wild experiences of the band members. One example is the song ''Erinnerungen''. In the text passage: ''„Ich erinner' mich gern an diese Zeit, eine Zeit die man nie vergißt. Doch ich muß mein Leben leben, meinen Weg alleine gehn, mach's gut, Du schöne Zeit, auf Wiederseh'n"'' (''"I gladly remember that time, a time that you never forget. He was the third son of [[James Bateman]] (1812–1897), the accomplished [[horticulture|horticulturist]] and landowner, who built [[Biddulph Grange]] and its gardens, in [[Staffordshire]].

Robert attended the [[Royal Academy]] schools in the 1860s, and from about 1870 he was the leader of a group of artists inspired by the art of [[Edward Burne-Jones]]. Sadly, it is a group about which little is now known (see: Christian, J. ''The Last Romantics'' (1989))

His key paintings are ''The Dead Knight'' (1870) and ''The Pool of Bethesda'' (1877). [[Walter Crane]], in his ''An Artist's Reminiscences'' (1907), described Bateman's painting as of.... ''"a magic world of romance and pictured poetry ... a twilight world of dark mysterious woodlands, haunted streams, meads of deep green starred with burning flowers, veiled in a dim and mystic light."''

''The Pool of Bethesda'' is at the [[Yale Centre of British Art]]. ''The Dead Knight'' is in a private collection, but there is a fine large color reproduction in the book ''The Last Romantics'' (1989).

Robert married the daughter of the Dean of [[Lichfield]] in 1883, and became a wealthy owner of property and land. His fortune led him to become a noted [[philanthropist]] of the time. He and his wife Caroline lived near [[Much Wenlock]], [[Shropshire]], at the 16th-Century [[Benthall Hall]]; now a [[National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty|National Trust]] property.

Bateman was a founder of the [[Society of Painters in Tempera]] in 1901. He is also said to have been an architect, although nothing is known about this aspect of his talent.

Bateman was also noted as a naturalist (corresponding with [[Charles Darwin]]), a botanical illustrator, sculptor, book illustrator, and an Italian scholar. He also left a horticultural legacy, in his planting of the gardens at Bentham Hall from 1890–1906 — much of his garden design there is still extant and is now maintained by the National Trust as part of Benthall Hall.

==Playing career==
Helmut Benthaus started his professional career at [[Westfalia Herne]] in 1958. In 1959 he won the [[2. Fußball-Bundesliga|Second Division-West]] title but left just a year later to join [[1860 Munich]] before moving to [[1.FC Cologne]]. He won the Second Division-West again in 1963 with Cologne then the [[German Bundesliga|German Masters]] in 1964. In 1965 he joined [[Switzerland|Swiss]] club [[FC Basel]] as player-manager. He retired from playing in 1971 aged 36.

He played for the [[Germany national football team]] on eight occassions between 1958 and 1960.

==Coaching career==
Benthaus coached [[FC Basel]] for 17 years between 1965 and 1982. He won the [[Swiss Super League|Swiss Masters]] seven times and the [[Swiss Cup]] twice. He coached Basel's legendary team of the 1970's that won the Championship in 1970, 1972, 1973 and 1977 as well as the Cup in 1975. The squad included [[Karl Odermatt]] and [[Ottmar Hitzfeld]]. After Basel he joined [[Germany|German]] club [[VfB Stuttgart]] in 1982. There he won the [[German Bundesliga|German Masters]] in 1984. He left in 1985 and rejoined Basel. However, this spell was much less successful and he was sacked after the club were relegated to the [[Swiss Challenge League|Nationalliga B]] in 1987.
