Jurassic Park: The Ride is a water-based amusement ride that is based on the Steven Spielberg film Jurassic Park and Michael Crichton's novel located at Universal Studios Hollywood. The ride was actually researched and built while the film was still in its production phase. It opened on June 21, 1996. Duplicates of the ride have since been built at Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Japan. A river rapids ride version of the attraction, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, opened in Universal Studios Singapore in 2010.

History
Opening
Among the guests in attendance at the ride's grand opening celebration in 1996 were film cast members Jeff Goldblum, Ariana Richards, and Joseph Mazzello. Steven Spielberg also attended the opening, but requested that he be let off of the attraction before the 84 ft drop.

Queue and Pre-show
The ride is designed to have the feel of Isla Nublar. Guests begin the queue by walking under the Jurassic Park Sign before waiting under an open-wall building. A tour guide appears on television monitors in the building, reviewing boarding and ride safety. She says, "Hi, I'm Gwen, one of your excursion hostesses here at Jurassic Park, and I want to welcome you to the river adventure. You will be placed in rows of five people each. Then the gates will open and one of our assistants will help you into the boat. As you enter the boat, use the rail for balance and the seat as a step. Help smaller children on board and, to be safe, place them in the middle of the row. And remember no smoking, no eating or drinking, and absolutely no flash photography. If you do intend to take photos during the ride, remember there is a good chance that you, and your camera, will get wet. Thank you for joining us and paying attention for all our safety requirements. Now, get ready to embark on the experience of a lifetime on The Jurassic Park River Adventure!" Other videos will play, with some about the "safety of the ride" spoken by InGen employees, John Hammond talking about the dinosaurs, and music from the first film in the background. Guests are then split into two lines to board their tour boats for the ride.

Ride
The ride starts with an area called Ultrasaur Lagoon, where two Ultrasaurus are seen eating plants in the water. Two Psittacosaurus are also seen. The boat then moves behind a waterfall and emerges in an area called Stegosaur Springs, where riders then see an adult Stegosaurus and its young. We then see two Compys fighting over an empty popcorn box. The boat then enters an area called Hadrosaur Cove, where a parasaurolophus pops up in front of the raft, The Jurassic Park Animal Control calls, revealing that the parasaurolophus threw the raft off course, causing it to enter the raptor containment area, which is shown to be heavily damaged.

Riders next encounter what appears to be an abandoned tour raft, where a Dilophosaurus is seen eating the remains of a poncho. A nearby motorboat is also abandoned. Apparently, the boat had been sent by Jurassic Park Animal Control to guide the raft towards a safe area, but the Dilophosaurus appears to have killed the tourists and boat crew. As of 2014, a Mickey Mouse hat can be seen floating in the water next to the ruined raft as an apparent reference to nearby theme park rival Disneyland.

Dilophosauruses jump out and spit their toxic venom (water) at guests. When night falls, sparks and flood lights are added to the effect.

The raft then enters the massive Environmental Systems Building and slowly begins to ascend a long lift hill. A voice on a loudspeaker in the building alerts guests that an emergency evacuation is going to be attempted. As the raft makes its way up the lift hill, numerous alarms are heard as escaped Velociraptors lunge out at guests. Once the raft reaches the top of the lift hill, it drops down a small waterfall and is attacked by a Tyrannosaurus. A claw falls from the ceiling followed by its head and a set of collapsing pipes above riders' heads. Roaring is heard.

A technician begins counting down when the building's life support systems will terminate (due to "toxic gases" released during the Tyrannosaurus encounter). The raft climbs a small lift hill that brings it closer to the emergency evacuation drop. A second technician screams "If you can hear my voice, get out of there! It's in the building! IT'S IN THE BUILDING!"

The Tyrannosaurus then emerges from a waterfall coming from broken pipes in front of the raft, and lunges down to grab the raft, and the raft escapes by plunging down an 85 ft high evacuation drop and into a tropical lagoon outside the Environmental Systems Building. A Dilophosaur tries to squirt "venom" at the passengers one last time. A can of Barbasol can be seen in the planter just before the ride ends, referencing the can Dennis Nedry uses in the first film. The raft finally makes its way to the unload dock where guests disembark the ride through the Jurassic Outfitters gift shop, where they may purchase Jurassic Park themed souvenirs, including photos of themselves on the ride during the drop.
Jurassic Park in the Dark
Halloween Horror Nights
During Universal Studios Hollywood's annual "Halloween Horror Nights" in 2009, the ride was temporarily renamed "Jurassic Park in the Dark." Most of the lights inside the Environmental Systems Building near the end of the ride were turned off, with only strobe lights illuminating violent scenes of raptors tearing apart scientists and game wardens. The tense Jurassic Park score usually heard during this portion of the ride was replaced with "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns 'N' Roses. The Jurassic Park in the Dark theme recurs each year at the Halloween Horror Nights event.

Hansa-Park is a seasonal amusement park in Sierksdorf (Schleswig-Holstein) off the Baltic Sea. It was opened on May 15, 1977 under the name Hansaland and renamed Hansa-Park in 1987. It currently spans 113 acre and includes more than 125 attractions. From 1973 to 1976, the site was home to the first German Legoland.

The park is owned by the Leicht family and managed by Christoph Andreas Leicht. The park attracts more than a million visitors each year, making it the fifth largest German amusement park. Stern magazine, in collaboration with the BAT Freizeit-Forschungsinstitut (Leisure Research Institute) tested the ten leading German amusement parks. Hansa-Park scored second place behind Europa-Park overall and first place in the north. The "Family Park on the Sea" was the first German amusement park to receive the "OK for Kids" seal of approval from the Deutschen Kinderschutzbund (the German Association for the Protection of Children) and TÜV Nord (Technical Inspection Association, North) for the whole park.

The grounds are divided into eleven different themed areas, including Alter Jahrmarkt (Medieval Fair), Westernstadt (Western Town), Mexiko (Mexico), Piratenland (Pirate Land) and Abenteuerland (Adventure Land). Each of these areas contains rides and shows consistent with its theme. The park's special charm lies in its careful and detailed use of theming, with many little gags positioned along the way to the large attractions.
The roller coaster's station building is located where the 3D cinema Maxxima used to be, by the foot of the tower Atmosfear. The 1,381-meter-long track follows the hillside in a custom made track design. The elements during the ride include two corkscrews, a Norwegian loop, a top hat and an in-line twist.
The estimated cost for the project is about 239,000,000 Swedish kronor, about $36,000,000.

Helix is after California Screamin' the 2nd longest roller coaster with inversions of the world.
Liseberg is an amusement park located in Gothenburg, Sweden, that opened in 1923. It is one of the most visited amusement parks in Scandinavia, attracting about three million visitors annually. Among the noteworthy attractions is the wooden roller coaster Balder, twice (2003 and 2005) voted as the Best Wooden Tracked Roller Coaster in the world in a major international poll. The park itself has also been chosen as one of the top ten amusement parks in the world (2005) by Forbes Magazine.

Additional to the summer season, the park is also open during November and December, albeit with fewer rides operating, hosting a Christmas market with traditional Swedish cuisine such as mulled wine and specialties such as döner kebab made from reindeer meat.

The official colors of Liseberg are pink and green as can be seen on the entrance and the older houses in the park, the colors were also adopted for the logo, which was introduced in the 1980s.

History
In 1752, the landowner [Johan Anders Lamberg] named his property "Lisa's Mountain" (in Swedish: Lisas berg) after his wife Elisabeth Söderberg. The area eventually became Liseberg.

In 1908, Gothenburg City bought the property including the on-site buildings for 225,000 Swedish kronor.

In 1923, Gothenburg celebrated its 300-year anniversary with the [Gothenburg Exhibition (1923)], which included a Leisure Park and the Congress Park; the area was opened on 8 May and included fun slides and the 980 ft long wooden Kanneworffska Funicular, designed by the Danish amusement builder Waldemar Lebech (originally there were 5 trains with 3 cars each that accommodated 10 people in each car, the ride lasted 2 and half minute; the ride was demolished in 1987 after having served over 41 million visitors). The fun park was originally intended as a temporary attraction for the Exhibition, but it became such a success with over 800,000 visitors in just over a month, that it was kept open. With an area of 1,500,000 m² the park had cost 2.6 million kronors to build.

On 24 November 1924, the Gothenburg City Council decided to purchase the Liseberg amusement park for 1 million kronors. In 1925, the amusement park was taken over by the municipal company Liseberg AB. The park's first director and one of its initiators was the legendary "carpenter from Skåne" Herman Lindholm, who managed it 1923–42.

On 13 August 1935, the functional-inspired Liseberg Bath was inaugurated, created by engineer KI Schön Anderson. The pool was 15 meters wide and 36 meters long and sported underwater Lights and artificial waves. The Pool was able to receive 800 people at a time, entrance fee with a cabin was 50 cents. The Swedish Olympic hopeful champion from 1920, Arvid Wallman, inaugurated the facilities. The pool was closed in 1956 and the building was demolished in 1962 for the forthcoming 40th anniversary in 1963.

Rotundan was one of the largest dancehalls when it opened on 10 January 1940. Its architect was Axel Jonson, and the construction lasted for one year at a cost of approximately 500,000 SEK. The dance floor held 1,200 persons and on the second floor a bar with the name Uggleklubben was opened. In 1956, the facility was renovated and its name changed to the Rondo. The architect Gunnar Aspe was behind the work, which cost 1 million dollars.

In 1947, Liseberg AB opened hotel facilities; Hotell Liseberg Heden. Right from the start one of the objectives of Liseberg was that it would be an opportunity for Gothenburg dwellers to experience recreation and enjoy the beautiful scenery, and in 1959 it opened the Princess Birgitta, a flower exhibition. During the opening ceremony, 15,000 roses were strewn over the park by helicopter. In 1977, Honor Place was founded, a collection of many of the world's largest celebrity hand impressions. At the time, there were 50 imprints; today, there are more than can fit the area, so an annual selection is made as to who should get the honor to appear.

In 1991, the Liseberg Guest AB was formed to oversee the running of Gothenburg campsites and harbor. In the 1990s the park was expanded by 35 000 square meters and a host of new attractions was inaugurated.

The park
In addition to the park's more than 30 different rides, Liseberg has many venues (stages, dance hall, restaurants and arcade halls). The park has two entrances / exits (one at Örgrytevagen, the other at Getebergsled). Much of the park is forested.

In 1983, the green-pink bunny, Liseberg Rabbit, became the park's symbol and mascot.

In 1998, That year's Julkalendern När Karusellerna Sover was filmed there.

The park is noted for its Lisebergs Lustgarten (botanical garden) that is beautifully landscaped and has many waterfalls, artworks and a variety of plants.

Liseberg Main Stage (Stora Scenen) was built in 1923 and was originally designed as a big music pavilion for the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and other large-scale concerts (over the years the design of the venue has been modified). Many famous bands such as Abba and the Rolling Stones have performed here. Right next to the Stora Scenen is the Small Stage (Lilla Scenen) and it plays host to various smaller events, in particular children's theater.

Polka (Polketten) is the dance hall that was built in 1925 but has since been moved to its current location. Tauba Scene was inaugurated in 2008 and is named after Evert Taube; this venue is used for different types of music such as jazz, and the Liseberg Orchestra plays here as well.

Adjacent to Liseberg Park are more venues: Lisebergshallen is an entertainment and sports arena, home to the local hockey team and team handball team. Rondo is the name of an exhibition hall and Liseberg Theater is a local theater.

Multifarious Swedish performers have performed at Liseberg since its opening. Among them, Zarah Leander, Maurice Chevalier, Marlene Dietrich, Evert Taube, ABBA, Lasse Dahlquist, Birgit Nilsson, Pernilla Wahlgren and Carola Häggkvist. Sten-Åke Cederhök played in 25 years' own perceptions of the “Week Revy”. Other artists like Sonya Heden Bratt, Hagge Geigert and Laila Westersund have appeared countless times at Liseberg. Olof Palme gave a speech on the main stage during his last election in 1985.

Foreign artists who have performed at Liseberg include Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Cliff Richard, Nightwish, Delta Rhythm Boys, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cat Stevens, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, The Who, PJ Proby, Frank Zappa with The Mothers Of Invention, Bill Haley & His Comets, Procol Harum, and Toto, among others.

Since 2004 a sing-along show called Lotta på Liseberg (Lotta at Liseberg), hosted by Lotta Engberg, is held at Stora scenen in Liseberg.
