In this instance a British and Irish endemic is obviously not going to be used as a medicinal plant in the Himalayas, India and Nepal. And it's a stretch to describe is as being used as an ornamental plant - I've seem it in the collection of whitebeams as Ness Botanic Gardens, and it might turn up in council plantings of native plants.
