Just as John is used for the Greek Ioannes, as in John II Komnenos the Byzantine emperor, so Peter must be used for the Bulgarian tsar. This is not a case for transliteration from Bulgarian, as the name is not a purely Bulgarian name, it is a common one in English speaking countries. undo
