They were a pop band, and new wave was, in fact, a period of pop history, one which preceded them. Sure, they could have continued to make music in a similar style to late 70s new wave, but...why would they? They were 'futurists', New Romantics, who took from Euro electro-disco (and then soul), not New Wavers. undo Tags: Undo Reverted
