Hi GD, just noticed you reply to my request to block 68.161.127.144. When I look [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&type=block&page=User:68.161.127.144 here] to see if this IP is blocked it is coming up empty. Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks. --[[User:Roswell native|Roswell native]] 06:22, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Deletion summaries

Hi, I have noticed that you often provide only a very short abbreviated deletion summary when you delete pages (like "a7" "nn-bio" and similar). Please keep in mind that most users do not know all of Wikipedia's speedy deletion criteria by heart. Please consider providing a brief "plain English" explanation without relying exclusively on "CSD jargon". Additionally linking to the relevant criteria so people can read it in full can also be useful, for example [[WP:CSD#A7]]. This will help a "layperson" better understand why something was deleted when looking at the deletion log.

Most browsers have a autocomplete or other "form filling" features that allow pre-prepared boil plate texts to be inserted into web forms with just a few keystrokes. This is useful for inserting detailed deletion summaries without having to type out the same things over and over. Please consider looking into it. Thanks. -- Longhair\talk 10:09, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Every little bit helps, and I've noticed less "hassle" in followup messages when the "kill command" is clear ;) Thanks. -- Longhair\talk 10:15, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you want a free bit of advice, using wiki features only, try this... find an article (take a nn bio for example, there's plenty of them to experiment with :-), edit the article and add the required {{db-bio}} tag, then click preview, but don't save. In bold along the top of the template you have your deletion summary. It works for me ;) -- Longhair\talk 10:36, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You

Thank you so very much for redirecting my comments ro Mr. Case. Adknam 11:21, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Squidward vandal you just blocked

Looks like a sock or imitator of Squidward vandal and therefore deserving of an indefblock instead of 24h. :) Syrthiss 20:32, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, looking at [1] this may just be an imitator. Squidward primarily used open proxy ips instead of usernames. Syrthiss 20:54, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Page

A page titled "Michael Malvasio" was recently deleted by you. I just wanted to take a screen shot of it, just to have, and then you can delete it again. Can you please put it up for 1 more day, so we can take a screen shot. That would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for any inconvience we have caused you. Thank you in advance for your response and help.

An IP user has added [2] as an external link to Veronica Finn. Although it is a link to a realestate site apparently run by Veronica Finn, is it considered a commercial link? The link actually helps verify some of the information in the article, so I'm wondering if the link is okay or not. Should it be removed? -WarthogDemon 04:19, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Speedy deletion tagging as nonsense and warning users

Thanks for the advice, but I disagree about those pages being nonsense articles. Although I dont speciffically recall the articles, obviously an administrator agrred that it met the speedy deletion criteria as the articles were deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EMT1871 (talkcontribs)

Your block of 68.78.54.197

This is a shared account, it is from a school, and people can't go to the create account screen or log in screen, it's picked up from the schools web blocker, there are Some people that have contributed to Wikipedia in a proper way. So please unblock this, If you can't, I understand... RedAlpha 01:30, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I Am Not Sure If I Am Being Reckless

But can you delete Kayla (Orca)? The article had been recently created, then had a db tag placed on it for already having an article at Kayla (whale). It was then changed into a redirect to the second page. I'm thinking it'd be best to have Kayla (whale) moved over there, for consistency's sake. We already have pages like that such as Keiko (Orca). -WarthogDemon 06:49, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I actually just now noticed that the correct page is Keiko (orca). That being said, is it alright if I just change it into a redirect to that page, and then move the Kayla (whale) page to Kayla (orca)? -WarthogDemon 06:54, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the confusion. ^_^;;; And thanks. :) -WarthogDemon 08:15, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You Deleted my South Texas Country Artist Page

I am the Drummer for the page you deleted J.R. Castillo and Unwound. I started this page today and you deleted it. I know it needed some work, infact. It is going to take a lot of work. I did leave his web page and myspace pages on the wikipage in case someone though it was a nonsense article. I would appreciate a little more time to complete a page!! I was getting the documentation I needed to fill out the rest of his music singles and albums. If you don't think that he was worth noting, you should have waited to see that his "Surviving Emily" song hit number 1 in Texas Country. I hope you can restore it, because setting up all the code for the tables, colors, etc. was a pain in the you know what. I did not save the notepad doc that I was working with, because it was on Wikipedia. Please put my 2 hours of hard work back up so I can finish it.

And next time you could message the person in the discussion thread and give it a couple of days before DELETING IT.Lancemurphy 07:00, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User Subpage help

Yes I copied the table structure. The two hours of work was me floating around the different artists webpages to find a structure I liked. I thought the whole point of this wiki was to ultimately move towards a uniform structuring. All I asked for was my code that was ready for me to edit. I am sorry if I was heated, but you did just delete my work less than 12 hours after I created it. Please send me the code and I will build the subpage first. I had no idead you could build the subpage first. Thanks Lancemurphy 22:08, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Question

Dear Gogo Dodo I am aspiring to become an administrator on Wikipedia, and I would like to know, from someone who already is an admin, whether I now meet the requirements and have enough standing here on Wikipedia to make a successful bid. Please assess my case, and provide an honest review on whether I am there yet and what should I do if I am not at where I need to be at the present point in time. Many thanks! In Business card there is a lot of adding and removal of external link spam. I recently removed http://www.ibccsite.com/ - which admittedly is not as spammy as some of what gets added, and it appears other editors have left it there. However I feel it does not belong in the article. Tontot (talk · contribs) seems very dedicated to having it in place, and I would like a third opinion.
