Raveena Tandon (born October 26 1970 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) is an Indian actress and former model. She is the daughter of director Ravi Tandon.
Biography
Raveena started acting at a very young age. Notably, her twenties. SInce then she has worked hard to maintain her image in teh industry. Failing,, but coming back strong a few times since than she has married and has a baby girl.
Career
Raveena got her name from a combination of her father's name Ravi and mother's name Veena.
Her first film Patthar Ke Phool (1991) was a hit [1], she received the Filmfare Lux New Face Award for her debut performance. She then made headlines with her fight with Karisma Kapoor, the other leading lady in the film Andaz Apna Apna (1994).
Her next film Mohra (1994) made her a superstar overnight. However the following films flopped at the box office, but her career was back on track with her hit film Ziddi (1997).
Films like Shool (1999), Bulandi (2000) and Aks (2001) won her huge acclaim. She won the Filmfare Special Performance Award for Aks. Her years in the industry paid off when she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence (2001), where she played a wife of an abusive husband.
Her last release was Ek Se Badhkar Ek, she has not acted in films since then.
Personal life
She adopted two children Pooja And Chhaya as a single mother in the 1990s. Subsequently, she married Anil Thadani and gave birth to a baby girl called Rasha on March 16, 2005. She is expecting her second child in July as she revealed herself at the 2007 Zee Cine Awards Coming up to give an Award With Firoz Khan You Could even see that she is pregnant.[2].
