Album covers in band articles, again
I am sorry we disagreed recently about fair use of album covers in band articles. Even though I disagreed with you, some of the points you made have (slightly) changed my thinking on the subject. I thought you might be interested in this discussion, and I have referred there to our debate at Talk:Powderfinger. I hope that by discussing the matter centrally we may come to a better project-wide consensus about this issue, to avoid it being discussed again and again in the future by people who would probably rather be improving the encyclopedia. Best wishes, --John 05:10, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Powderfinger

Yes, that would be Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria #3: "As few non-free content uses as possible are included in each article and in Wikipedia as a whole. Multiple items are not used if one will suffice; one is used only if necessary." Although I see you've tried to legitimise departing from this guideline in your rationale here, for example, any time it has ever been previously discussed, the consensus has been that album covers are fair use in the article on the album only. Not in the band article, not in the discography article, as some have tried to maintain. See also Wikipedia:WikiProject Music/MUSTARD#Images and notation: "The album cover tag establishes fair use only in an article about the album in question." --John 15:06, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Giggy
I would like to thank you for your participation in my successful RfA, which passed with a tally of (44/10/5)[1]. Whether you supported, opposed or were neutral in my RfA, I appreciate your participation and I hope that we can continue to work together to build a stronger and better Wikipedia.

My RfAs

Thanks for the support! :) Don't worry about missing both my RfAs; two other users have commented about missing my second RfA, so don't feel left out or anything. :) 104/1/1 in my second RfA was definitely a surprise. :) Regarding your recent RfA, I do hope that you'll listen to concerns listed there, and try again (hopefully with nominators!) in a few months time. I'll be supporting for the fourth time in a row. :) Again, thanks. Acalamari 16:29, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bearian's RfA

I just want to thank you once more for supporting my RfA, which passed 63 to 1. Your comments at the RfA were so kind. Thanks again, and I hope to do my best. Hopefully, you'll get the mop, too, sooner or later. Bearian 01:39, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GAC expedited evaluation

I have had 30 successful WP:GAC evaluations, but do not recall if you have done any. I have never requested an expedited review. Do you have any advice on my request for an expedited GAC review?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 18:49, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have much opinion there, sorry. Whilst I am experienced in GAC, it's only in a small area of it, and besides, I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 04:58, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Wondering if you can help me, I'm asking as you live in Brisbane - what would a Brisbane person see as the key suburban centres in the metropolitan area? I've got Redcliffe, Strathpine, Ipswich, Capalaba, Cleveland and Beenleigh, and of course Brisbane CBD, but looking for others, especially in the Brisbane City Council area. (Note this is for an offline project so I'm not that worried about WP:RS) Cheers Orderinchaos 16:44, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Centenary, Indro, is about all I can think of. See your talk page. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 02:39, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey H20

Hey H20, good to hear from you. Yeah I've been very busy with other things lately. Haven't had too much time lately to edit wikipedia. But I check it regularly to see what's been happening. Did you notice that Process This has a deletion notice? Hopefully we'll get those 2 articles at FA. Slabba 23:06, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gah, I saw that prod. Not sure if I fully agree with it, see your talk page. Dihydrogen Monoxide (H2O) 02:39, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I dunno, I guess there really isn't much info on it though, but it does tie it all together having a page for all of the songs from that album. Also, I'm not sure if I like the "cut-down" version of the Powderfinger template that User:John has made without a list of all songs. Maybe we'll have to create a new page with other Powderfinger links otherwise you'll never be able to find those pages, if you get my drift. Because songs like These Days (Powderfinger song) are important imo. Slabba 03:46, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll let you revert, and deal with his wrath lol :-) Slabba 03:50, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good work, I just noticed that he flagged a few other songs for deletion i.e. Sink Low and Belter. I dunno what we should do re. this, they're not really notable in any way I guess Slabba 03:58, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've just had a look at Young Modern and made a few changes. Mainly the track listing table, and a few grammar and ref changes. I reckon you will need to read through it and add some more refs throughout. As there are some points that need backing up. Slabba 04:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
