Grandpa's Magical Toys was a video part of the Wee Sing Video Series series of videos started in 1985. The video was the third installment, and was released in 1988. A DVD of it was released in 2005.

The story

The video concerned three children and their magical adventure in a toyroom. The grandfather in the story has a room of toys that he grew up with. Such toys include a Dutch girl doll (essentially a costumed Barbie doll), a sailor doll, a clown marionette, and more. His grandson, Peter, the main character, knows of these toys and wants to share them with his friends, David and Sarah.

While his grandfather is out of the room, magic shrinks the children down, while the toy room grows to a large size, making the toys come to life. The children enjoy their time with the toys, and by the time the day ends, the children learn about being young at heart.

The video is told with twenty children's songs and is within sixty minutes.

Grandpa: The grandfather of the story's title.
Peter: The grandson of Grandpa. Knows of several toys that his grandfather has.
David: One of Peter's friends. Can do a British and Scottish accent very well, and is apparently a lover of mystery stories.
Sarah: An African-American girl, also one of Peter's friends. Is a skilled jump-roper.

Toys

Punchinello: A clown marionette and the first toy that the three kids meet up with. He has watched Peter for years, and claims to have helped his grandfather when he was a boy.
Sailor: A British sailor in a small boat. Enjoys clapping games.
Dutch Girl: a Dutch woman that enjoys jump roping. Has a certain song - apparently her introductory song - that she "can't get out of her head" when she is introduced. She is additionally very much a chatterbox, and her friends get bored by her chatter. Is also obsessed with her ribbons, particularly the ones tying her braids together as she likes having those ribbons straight. She gets mopey when the come undone, but the three kids give her a nice pep talk.
Laddie and Lassie: Two young Scottish children. Appear to be around Peter's age. Judging by their interaction with each other, one can assume that they are siblings.
Muffin Man: a muffin baker. Appears to be good friends with Punchinello. Upon his initial appearance, he only has one muffin left in his baker's hat.
Maggie: A somewhat snobbish female rag doll. Along with her cohorts Carl Crayon, Jack and Minky Monkey, she is obsessed with the hokey pokey and is thus useless in the search for the key.
