'''Lý Long Tường''' ([[Hán tự]]: [[wikt:李|李]][[wikt:隆|隆]][[wikt:祥|祥]]; 1174-?) was a prince of the [[Lý Dynasty]] of Đại Việt (the name of [[Vietnam]] at that time) and later became Lee of Hwasan, General of Korea. He is an ancestor of one branch of the [[Lee (Korean name)|Lee]] (or Rhee) family today in both South and North Korea.

In [[1225]], Trần Thủ Độ overthrew the Ly Dynasty by introducing his nephew Trần Cảnh to the royal court to serve the incumbent queen Lý Chiêu Hoàng, he then orchestrated a political marriage between Trần Cảnh and Lý Chiêu Hoàng and thereafter forced Ly Chieu Hoang to abdicate in favour of her husband Tran Canh. This marked the end of the Ly Dynasty and the beginning of the Tran Dynasty. With the Tran family having just gained the throne, Tran Thu Do ordered the massacre of the Ly family members and forced all of its descendants to change their surname to Nguyen, and sent them to the northern mountainous areas.

==Life in exile==
In 1226, (Kiến Trung's year of the Second Tran Dynasty of Thái Tông), in order to avoid further bloodshed by the Tran family, Lý Long Tường, together with 6000 [[Mandarin (bureaucrat)|mandarin]]s and servants departed from the Thân Phù (now [[Thanh Hóa]] Province) estuary and fled to the [[South China Sea]] in three large ships. They carried with them worships<!--What does "worships" mean in this context?-->, i.e. the royal crown, royal costumes, and the Thuong phuong bao kiem (heaven royal sword). After a month on the high seas, they were forced to land in [[Taiwan]] due to a typhoon. When Lý Long Tường decided to leave, his son Lý Long Hiền was severely ill and had to stay in Taiwan together with 200 mandarins, followers and servants. Lý Long Tường continued northwards to [[Ongjin, South Hwanghae|Ongjin County]] and then on to [[Haeju]], [[Hwanghae]] in the [[Yellow Sea]]. Legend has it that the Korean king [[Kojong]] of the [[Goryeo]] Dynasty (1192-1259) had dreamt of a grand [[Phoenix (mythology)|phoenix]] flying from the south and landing in his nation. Therefore, he ordered the local government of Hae-ju to give the Vietnamese refugees a red-carpeted welcome and allow them to live in a manor in his country.

== Linking to birthdates ==
Lý Long Tường and his companions started their culture of fishing and breeding. He also opened a Độc thư đường, taught literature (poetry, rhythmical prose and worship rituals) and constructed a school to teach martial arts - the art of war. Thousands of local students joined his two schools.

Hi Nihonjoe, the way I read [[WP:DATES]] left me thinking most dates should not be linked unless there was a specific reason to. Is this not the case? There's [[Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers)#RfC:_Linking_of_dates_of_birth_and_death|an RfC]] on the issue that you may be interested in, it should clear up the misinterpretations once everyone's had their say. <small><span style="border:1px solid #955619;padding:1px;"><font style="color:#955619;">[[User:Louis Waweru|<b>Louis Waweru</b>]]</font> [[User_talk:Louis Waweru|<font style="color:#FFFFFF;background:#955619;">&nbsp;Talk&nbsp;</font>]]</span></small> 11:34, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
==Defeat of the Mongol invaders==
In 1232, an army of the [[Mongol Empire]] led by [[Kublai Khan]] launched an [[Mongol invasion of Korea|attack on Korea]] by both sea and land. The troops, using the waterways, attacked Hwang-hae but were defeated by the army and the local inhabitants led by Lý Long Tường. Lý Long Tường always rode a white horse and as a result, was dubbed the "White Horse General."

== Vandal at 118.137.0.0/16 is back! ==
In 1253, The Mongol army led by the great Khan Mongca launched a second attack on Korea. The Yuan-Mongol army, led by Tang Ji, attacked Hwang-hae overland and by using the waterways. Lý Long Tường, although by then over 70 years old, led the army and the local inhabitants to victory after a five month campaign. As a result of this important triumph, the Korean king renamed Chen-san (鎭山) Hwa-san (花山) and appointed Lý Long Tường Hwa-san a General. The location of the Mongol army surrender was called Soo-jiang-mun (hanja: [[wikt:受|受]][[wikt:降|降]][[wikt:門|門]]; "Gate of Surrender Acceptance"). The Korean king also had a pillar erected here to honour Lý Long Tường. (The pillar can still be seen today).

The vandal using the range 118.137.0.0/16 (or even wider) seems to back to his old ways of misinformation and vandalism. This time, he vandalized the same old kinds of articles from more or less two days ago under the following:
When Lý Long Tường died, he was buried at the foot of Mount Di A near Panmunjeom (hanja: 板門店). The mountain peak (Kwang-dea) where Lý Long Tường always sat to look southwards and cried is now called the "Peak of Nostalgia" (hanja: [[wikt:望|望]][[wikt:國|國]][[wikt:壇|壇]]).

==Lý Long Tường's descendants in Korea==
Just to let you know that there has been a recent update to the criteria for relisting AFDs. You can see the full details at [[WP:RELIST]]. The main update is that relisting an AFD a second time should only be done in exceptional circumstances. I'm letting you know because you have recently been active in relisting AFDs. General Lee Maeng Woo was a Korean general and the sixth descendant of Lý Long Tường who assisted General Pyun Hong Kee and was killed by the Choseon king<!--Which one? In which year?-->. Today, there are some 1500 households in [[North Korea]] and 600 in [[South Korea]] with connections to Lý Long Tường. On November 6, 1958, South Korean president [[Syngman Rhee]] said to the local press when he visited [[Saigon]] (the Republic of Vietnam's capital), that he was a descendant of Lý Long Tường, which is not true because his ancestral homeplace of origin (Pon-gwan in Korean) is Cheon-ju, not Hwa-san. A descendant of Lý Long Tường visited Lý's temple in Dinh Bang village in Bac Ninh Province and has sent money to help in the reconstruction of the temple. He also invested in a local project. At the end of 1995, a report on Lý Long Tường was broadcast by South Korean TV channel [[KBS]].

Wow, I can't honestly believe it. Wikipedia is truly pathetic. Why don't you guys or just you in particular just stop trying to be self-righteous and improve Wikipedia in a true and right manner then just give up on it pathetically. On your profile page, you say you enjoy editing material to "make it better"? ==Question==
Hi, I was wondering if you could do me a small favour, I do not understand Japanese writing at all and there is a reference [http://www.asahi.com/science/update/1008/TKY200810080259_01.html] that may confirm something that could stop an edit war. So could you please take a look at it and let me know if the person being interviewed confirms that he is Japanese-American? Thanks, [[User:Scorpion0422|Scorpion]][[user talk:Scorpion0422|0422]] 02:42, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

:He doesn't say that. He's asked if his nationality is still Japanese, and he replies with, "Why would I need to become an American? Japanese people can live in America. There wasn't any discrimination in obtaining research funds, and I didn't feel inconvenienced for the most part." This is a translation of this part:
<blockquote>
——国籍は日本のままなんですね。

 「何でわざわざアメリカ人に変わる必要があるの? 日本人でもアメリカに住める。研究費を取るにも差別はなかったし、ほとんど不便は感じない」
</blockquote>

:The rest doesn't talk about that. Hope that helps. ···[[User:Nihonjoe|<font color="green">日本穣</font>]][[Help:Japanese|?]] · <small>[[User talk:Nihonjoe|Talk to Nihonjoe]]</small> 04:41, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Will you please take a quick look at the the following:

** <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT:Nikkei}}?</nowiki>
** <nowiki>[[Category:Japanese diaspora|Nikkei]]?</nowiki>

These are broader topics than I typically choose to address, which leaves me uncertain about the way I have parsed these categories. What improvements would you suggest? --[[User:Tenmei|Tenmei]] ([[User talk:Tenmei|talk]]) 17:32, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

::These are four related articles with similar categories; and two of these are new -- [[Nisei]] and [[Sansei]].
::*1. As the creator a a new article, I thought it was part of my job to contrive something to fit in this template: <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT: }}</nowiki>? To be frank, I never quite understood what I was doing or why, but it was a sufficiently mechanical task that I seem to have managed nicely up until now. I suddenly felt uncertain; and so I'm asking for you to confirm that these are plausibly or adequately handled?

::*2. Someone else created the categories for [[Issei]]; and they seemed applicable to [[Nisei]], [[Sansei]] and [[Nikkei]]. I copied someone else's work at [[Issei]] to the bottom of these others in this set. However, I didn't quite know what to make of "<nowiki>[[Category:Japanese diaspora|Issei]]?</nowiki>." I usually ignore the part after the piping. In fact, I thought the piping probably pre-dated "DEFAULTSORT"? In other words: although I have handled something similar on many occasions, I somehow felt uncertain in this instance. So again, I just wanted you to confirm that I was causing no problems with what I'd guessed was plausible or adequate?

::*3. Saving most difficult for last -- I'm not comfortable with [[Japanese diaspora]] which is linked in a network of corollaries; but I want leave this issue for someone more invested in this subject. In my view, ''Nikkei'' is a better choice for both article and category; but since someone else has already created a re-direct, I was hoping to leave it there. Unfortunately, the more I thought about these questions, the more unsure I became. So, again I'm looking for a confirmation that "Alternative B"-below is plausible or adequate?
:::*ALTERNATIVE A: <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT:Nikkei}}?</nowiki>
:::** <nowiki>[[Category:Japanese diaspora|Nikkei]]?</nowiki>
:::*ALTERNATIVE B: <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT:Japanese diaspora}}?</nowiki>
:::** <nowiki>[[Category:Japanese diaspora]]?</nowiki>

::Given the range of other complex subjects I've tackled, I can't begin to explain why these relatively trivial stumbling-blocks became insurmountable; but there you have it. I was puzzled, and I was hoping that a resolution of these parsing issues would seem very simple or even obvious to you. --[[User:Tenmei|Tenmei]] ([[User talk:Tenmei|talk]]) 22:22, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

::::Okay,let me try to answer them in order:
::::#<nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT: }}</nowiki> should only be used if the title of the article is different from how the article should be sorted in categories. For example, [[Sumi Shimamoto]] should be sorted by her family name, so you would put <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT:Shimamoto, Sumi}}</nowiki> on her page. [[List of manga magazines]] should be sorted by "manga" rather than "List", so you would put <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT: Manga magazines, List of}}</nowiki> (or without the "List of" if you want) on that page. You should only use the piped sorting key in the category if the article needs to be sorted differently in one specific category. The piped sort key overrides the <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT: }}</nowiki>.
::::#The piping does predate <nowiki>{{DEFAULTSORT: }}</nowiki>. I think I answered the rest in #1, above.
::::#[[:Category:Japanese diaspora]] is broad enough to have a decent number of articles in it, yet specific enough to not be overflowing. I don't think there's a need for separate categories for Issei, Nissei, Sansei, and Nikkei unless there are 20 or more articles which can be categorized there. ···[[User:Nihonjoe|<font color="green">日本穣</font>]][[Help:Japanese|?]] · <small>[[User talk:Nihonjoe|Talk to Nihonjoe]]</small> 00:46, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

== Translation? ==

Hey. I'm currently translating an article from Japanese to English, and I got stuck on a line that just has me bewildered. The line is:

I've translated it to:

Densha Otoko's posts continued for awhile longer, but on May 17, there were posts about being on the verge of having sex, forum members made inappropriate comments (they had been expressing their opinions and thoughts about him). Later that night, Densha Otoko left the boards.

It just seems like a very strange thing to be included in the article. If you've got a few minutes, could you maybe look at the translation and see if I got it right? I'll keep an eye on this page, so I guess you can reply here. If you can't help, that's okay too. Thanks! &mdash; [[User:HelloAnnyong|'''<span style="color: #aaa">Hello</span><span style="color: #666">Annyong</span>''']] [[User_talk:HelloAnnyong|(say whaaat?!)]] 03:56, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

== [[Fuuma no Kojirou]] ==

I do not know why, but I have had to repeatedly move this page back from [[Fūma no Kojirō]] to [[Fuuma no Kojirou]]. This is the spelling of the title of the manga when used by the URL of the official website of the drama it was turned into. I would think that the URL used by the live action show is enough, but you've moved it to "Fūma no Kojirō" as have other users. "Fuuma no Kojirou" is the only transliteration that I've ever found by any Japanese production company, as [http://tvarc.toei.co.jp/tv/library/series-title.html it's absent here, despite there being a Toei Animation OVA series]. Why should Hepburn romanization be utilized when there is obviously another Romanization used?—[[User:Ryulong|<font color="blue">Ryūlóng</font>]] ([[User talk:Ryulong|<font color="gold">竜龙</font>]]) 22:51, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

:As I wrote on the talk page, it has been argued that this is not the official romanization used by the live action production company. The only evidence of "Fuuma no Kojirou" being used is for the website URL, and this is likely due to the technical restrictions and difficulties of putting a site at fūmanokojirō.com (as macrons are difficult to type for many people). I can find nothing else showing any romanization. Therefore, [[WP:MOS-JA]] should apply. Perhaps this should be opened up to everyone at [[WT:MOS-JA]] instead of just here? This would give broader input into the issue. ···[[User:Nihonjoe|<font color="green">日本穣</font>]][[Help:Japanese|?]] · <small>[[User talk:Nihonjoe|Talk to Nihonjoe]]</small> 01:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

I know that Toei Company has [http://tvarc.toei.co.jp/tv/library/series-title.html a whole slew] of English and romanized Japanese names for their shows, and none of those use macrons. The only instance where I've seen them used at all was on the henshin device in [[Zyuranger]] and in all of the materials for [[Go-onger]] (but these are only in my subject area). Obviously, the production company for the live action Fuuma chose "Fuuma no Kojirou" instead of "Fuma no Kojiro" or variations thereof.—[[User:Ryulong|<font color="blue">Ryūlóng</font>]] ([[User talk:Ryulong|<font color="gold">竜龙</font>]]) 22:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

== another romanization request ==

Hello, can you romanize "どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう?"
The title has been disputed (mainly in the article's edit history, not so much on the talk page). The current title is "[[Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō]]". Previous versions include "Dōshite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō" and "Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarou" but the title of the article was changed to the latest version to go according to the Hepburn romanization system. I guess the main problem right now is how to romanize the "を"... and I'd like a final say on the title before people start moving it again.
Also... is it possible to delete "[[Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimmatandarō|Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte <i>Shimmatandarō</i>"]]? An editor misspelled the title during one of the moves and I didn't see it until I moved "Dōshite Kimi wo... Shimmatandarō?" to "Dōshite Kimi o... Shimmatandarō". By that time I had already edited that version when I meant to edit the other. I'm so sorry about the mess. Can you please help? ==[[Nasdijj]]==

Hi

I found your name randomly on the list of Highly Active Admins, and hope you would be willing to give a moment of your time. Among other pages I have worked on is the page "Nasdijj". Over the weekend, a person calling themselves "Prairie Mary / Mary Scriver" has left several messages on the article's talk page, making statements that the article is biased and inaccurate. Because the article's semi-protected, she can't make any changes herself.

I have to say that reading some of her messages (especially inaccurate statements on my talk page) has left me a little set against her. Certainly right now because of real-life events I don't have the cool head required to decide which of the changes she wants made should be made, and whether she is right that the article is biased against the subject. It's entirely possible that I am manifesting bias, and it's unhealthy for me (the one accused of bias) to be deciding which of her changes to allow and which to deny.

Please could I ask you, as an experienced and cool-headed admin, to take a look at the article and the talk page and to judge which changes should be made?

Thanks, [[User:Vizjim|Vizjim]] ([[User talk:Vizjim|talk]]) 06:47, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

== Protection question... ==

I don't know if you protect pages, but since you're an admin, I have to ask you this as well. If you're not the right person, I would still appreciate your reply.

''[[Negima!?]]'' is currently under three-day protection after a recent spike of vandalism on it, first one over a year after its previous protection. Can you extend the protection imposed on it, considering it has been targetted and vandalized several times within the last year and a half? I know that the original admin who imposed the protection will be out by the time this protection expires so I was hoping any admin can impose an extension for protection on an article. - [[User: Nanami Kamimura|上村七美 (Nanami-chan)]] | <small>[[User talk: Nanami Kamimura|talkback]] | [[Special: Contributions/Nanami Kamimura|contribs]]</small> 16:06, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Linking to birthdates

Hi Nihonjoe, the way I read WP:DATES left me thinking most dates should not be linked unless there was a specific reason to. Is this not the case? Question

Hi, I was wondering if you could do me a small favour, I do not understand Japanese writing at all and there is a reference [1] that may confirm something that could stop an edit war. So could you please take a look at it and let me know if the person being interviewed confirms that he is Japanese-American? Thanks, Scorpion0422 02:42, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

He doesn't say that. He's asked if his nationality is still Japanese, and he replies with, "Why would I need to become an American? Japanese people can live in America. There wasn't any discrimination in obtaining research funds, and I didn't feel inconvenienced for the most part." This is a translation of this part:

——国籍は日本のままなんですね。

 「何でわざわざアメリカ人に変わる必要があるの? 日本人でもアメリカに住める。研究費を取るにも差別はなかったし、ほとんど不便は感じない」

The rest doesn't talk about that. Hope that helps. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 04:41, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

You are only continuing to press your opinion after it has been shot down multiple times by overwhelming consensus. Please stop before further actions have to be taken. Please don't hang yourself with it by continuing down this path in this manner. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 07:35, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Categories

Will you please take a quick look at the the following:

  • Issei?
    • {{DEFAULTSORT:Issei}}?
    • [[Category:Japanese diaspora|Issei]]?
  • Nisei?
    • {{DEFAULTSORT:Nisei}}?
    • [[:Category:Japanese diaspora|Nisei]]?
  • Sansei?
    • {{DEFAULTSORT:Sansei}}?
    • [[Category:Japanese diaspora|Sansei]]?

These are broader topics than I typically choose to address, which leaves me uncertain about the way I have parsed these categories. What improvements would you suggest? --Tenmei (talk) 17:32, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand your question. Please rephrase. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:10, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
These are four related articles with similar categories; and two of these are new -- Nisei and Sansei.
  • 1. As the creator a a new article, I thought it was part of my job to contrive something to fit in this template: {{DEFAULTSORT: }}? To be frank, I never quite understood what I was doing or why, but it was a sufficiently mechanical task that I seem to have managed nicely up until now. I suddenly felt uncertain; and so I'm asking for you to confirm that these are plausibly or adequately handled?
  • 2. Someone else created the categories for Issei; and they seemed applicable to Nisei, Sansei and Nikkei. I copied someone else's work at Issei to the bottom of these others in this set. However, I didn't quite know what to make of "[[Category:Japanese diaspora|Issei]]?." I usually ignore the part after the piping.
  • 3. Saving most difficult for last -- I'm not comfortable with Japanese diaspora which is linked in a network of corollaries; but I want leave this issue for someone more invested in this subject. In my view, Nikkei is a better choice for both article and category; but since someone else has already created a re-direct, I was hoping to leave it there. Unfortunately, the more I thought about these questions, the more unsure I became. So, again I'm looking for a confirmation that "Alternative B"-below is plausible or adequate?
  • ALTERNATIVE A: {{DEFAULTSORT:Nikkei}}?
    • [[Category:Japanese diaspora|Nikkei]]?
  • ALTERNATIVE B: {{DEFAULTSORT:Japanese diaspora}}?
    • [[Category:Japanese diaspora]]?
Given the range of other complex subjects I've tackled, I can't begin to explain why these relatively trivial stumbling-blocks became insurmountable; but there you have it. I was puzzled, and I was hoping that a resolution of these parsing issues would seem very simple or even obvious to you. --Tenmei (talk) 22:22, 10 October 2008 (UTC)
Okay,let me try to answer them in order:
  1. {{DEFAULTSORT: }} should only be used if the title of the article is different from how the article should be sorted in categories. For example, Sumi Shimamoto should be sorted by her family name, so you would put {{DEFAULTSORT:Shimamoto, Sumi}} on her page. List of manga magazines should be sorted by "manga" rather than "List", so you would put {{DEFAULTSORT: Manga magazines, List of}} (or without the "List of" if you want) on that page. You should only use the piped sorting key in the category if the article needs to be sorted differently in one specific category. The piped sort key overrides the {{DEFAULTSORT: }}.
  2. The piping does predate {{DEFAULTSORT: }}. I think I answered the rest in #1, above.
  3. Category:Japanese diaspora is broad enough to have a decent number of articles in it, yet specific enough to not be overflowing. I don't think there's a need for separate categories for Issei, Nissei, Sansei, and Nikkei unless there are 20 or more articles which can be categorized there. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 00:46, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Translation?

Thanks! — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 03:56, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Impersonating another user is an immediate indef blockable offense. I reported Los666 for doing so. This is not heavy vandalism, but perhaps Nihonjoe or someone can semi-protect it. --C S (talk) 18:04, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
The article has been semiprotected for a month. In the future, please post a link to the article in question as I don't always remember which article we are discussing otherwise. I deal with too many things to remember them all. Thanks! ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 20:54, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Wagner

A truffle

The cover page to Wagner's manuscript with his notes to his publisher in his own handwriting. A bit small for me to make out the full thing and translate from German. Still, :) DurovaCharge! 01:28, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Let me see what I can find out for you. I have a good German friend who may be able to help read it. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 02:48, 18 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, my friend replied with this information:

As you said, they are instructions to the publisher about not mixing up the tablature. "Put the instruments exactly as I've put them on this page, in other words, the bassoons under the horns, and the trumpets under the bassoons." There's also something about the first page (title page?) and a reference to his earlier opera Tannhaeuser, but I can't really make out what it says except to pick out a word here and there.

Hope that helps. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 04:49, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I do not know why, but I have had to repeatedly move this page back from Fūma no Kojirō to Fuuma no Kojirou. This is the spelling of the title of the manga when used by the URL of the official website of the drama it was turned into. I would think that the URL used by the live action show is enough, but you've moved it to "Fūma no Kojirō" as have other users. "Fuuma no Kojirou" is the only transliteration that I've ever found by any Japanese production company, as it's absent here, despite there being a Toei Animation OVA series. Why should Hepburn romanization be utilized when there is obviously another Romanization used?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:51, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

As I wrote on the talk page, it has been argued that this is not the official romanization used by the live action production company. The only evidence of "Fuuma no Kojirou" being used is for the website URL, and this is likely due to the technical restrictions and difficulties of putting a site at fūmanokojirō.com (as macrons are difficult to type for many people). I can find nothing else showing any romanization. Therefore, WP:MOS-JA should apply. Perhaps this should be opened up to everyone at WT:MOS-JA instead of just here? This would give broader input into the issue. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 01:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
I've rarely seen Hepburn romanization used at all in Japanese production companies for their romanized names. I know that Toei Company has a whole slew of English and romanized Japanese names for their shows, and none of those use macrons. The only instance where I've seen them used at all was on the henshin device in Zyuranger and in all of the materials for Go-onger (but these are only in my subject area). Obviously, the production company for the live action Fuuma chose "Fuuma no Kojirou" instead of "Fuma no Kojiro" or variations thereof.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:20, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Is "Fuuma no Kojirou" an official English title, or is it the title used by the Japanese version? Because if there is no official English title, we use the most popular title... which is probably "Fuuma no Kojirou" by otaku fangirls/fanboys. Moocowsrule (talk) 02:54, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Fanboy/girl popular titles are not reliable (and can often be completely wrong, too). They should not be used in any way when deciding the appropriate title here. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 03:49, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes but there is no official English title... so it should either be "Fūma no Kojirō" or "Fuuma no Kojirou" which is probably the most known title... Moocowsrule (talk) 21:21, 25 October 2008 (UTC)moocowsrule

Romanisation request

Is there any chance you could help with filling in the romaji titles over at List of Rurouni Kenshin episodes please (or rather, the lists linked on that page)? We have kanji and english titles, but not romaji titles, nor can I find any with google. I did find a site offering machine "translations", but I wouldn't like to use them without having them double checked. There is no rush, and if you can't help then no worries Dandy Sephy (talk) 19:10, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

another romanization request

Hello, can you romanize "どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう?" The title has been disputed (mainly in the article's edit history, not so much on the talk page). The current title is "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō". Also... is it possible to delete "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimmatandarō"? An editor misspelled the title during one of the moves and I didn't see it until I moved "Dōshite Kimi wo... Shimmatandarō?" to "Dōshite Kimi o... Shimmatandarō". By that time I had already edited that version when I meant to edit the other. I'm so sorry about the mess. Can you please help? - rairakku(talk to me) 21:41, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

The "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō" title is correct per the WP:MOS-JA. I deleted the incorrect title. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:53, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Thank you so, so much for your help. - rairakku(talk to me) 22:06, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry... I made a mistake moving it back to "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō"... I wrote it as "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimmatandarō". But yes the correct title is "Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō". Moocowsrule (talk) 02:50, 24 October 2008 (UTC)moocowsrule

Thanks, Vizjim (talk) 06:47, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Protection question...

I don't know if you protect pages, but since you're an admin, I have to ask you this as well. If you're not the right person, I would still appreciate your reply.

Negima!? is currently under three-day protection after a recent spike of vandalism on it, first one over a year after its previous protection. Can you extend the protection imposed on it, considering it has been targetted and vandalized several times within the last year and a half? I know that the original admin who imposed the protection will be out by the time this protection expires so I was hoping any admin can impose an extension for protection on an article. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 16:06, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
