Wikipedian linguists category change

Hi Psychonaut. I just noticed your edit of Category:Wikipedian linguists to remove the fields of interest designation. I originally created the category with only Category:Wikipedians by fields of interest as a parent since I don't believe most trained linguists ever actually "work" as linguists. I always had the impression that most trained linguists got other sorts of jobs. Subsequent to my creating the category, a number of people added themselves and then somebody added Category:Wikipedians by profession as a parent. Now that you've removed Category:Wikipedians by fields of interest as a parent, it sucks for me since I don't belong in the category anymore (I'm only a former linguistics student and amateur linguist). I wouldn't be surprised if there are others in the category in the same situation. Did you intend for someone to create Category:Wikipedians interested in linguistics? What about letting the miscategorized folks know about your change? I only saw your change because I created the category page and had a watch on it. Also, you didn't change the navbox at the top of the page to have the profession category as a parent. Please let me know if you'd strongly object to my reverting your changes. Sorry for not tying up those loose ends. I do think, though, that it would be better to separate those formally trained in linguistics from those with a mere "interest" in linguistics, as practically every other profession/field of interest in Category:Wikipedians is split this way. I'll take care of creating separate categories and notifying users so that they can reassign themselves if necessary. —Psychonaut 16:51, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

I expect it's a spoofed account. The same just happened on meta. Angela. 10:32, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
And on wikispecies - Open2universe 12:21, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
Because of the vandalism, the username "Psychonaut" was blocked on wikibooks for 1 month. If this is the same psychonaut, i can only assume your account was hijacked or misused. Let me know if there was a problem, and you want the accound unblocked. --Whiteknight 14:42, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
It's not my account; most likely just someone impersonating me. —Psychonaut 15:43, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
You've also been blocked indefinetly on wikinews for WoW. Bawolff 23:26, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
just fyi, wikisource too. Derex @ 16:10, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
I've never registered for Wikisource either, so I can't take responsibility for any User:Psychonaut over there. If he/she is causing problems there, my permission isn't required to block the account. —Psychonaut 17:54, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
Thanks, I just wanted to clear that up. Sorry if this was much of a bother to you. --Whiteknight
Wikinews too. from n:special:log/block
08:58, 11 November 2005 Amgine blocked "User:Psychonaut" with an expiry time of infinite (WoW)

BTW, if you were the victim of an impersonator using your account name instead of the person who actually did the vandalism, I will understand. If you want to "claim" the account name on Wikibooks with the same name, let me know and I can unblock you as well. If it is permitted to claim accounts of confirmed impersonators, then yes, I think it would be prudent for me to claim wikibooks:User:Psychonaut, wikispecies:User:Psychonaut, meta:User:Psychonaut, commons:User:Psychonaut, and wikisource:User:Psychonaut; what must I do to gain control of these accounts? (In any event, the likely perpetrator of this impersonation, User:JarlaxleArtemis, was recently unbanned on the condition that he repair damage caused by impersonation on other wikis [1], which I take to mean that he is obligated to hand over control of the accounts to me.) —Psychonaut 23:38, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Hi

What is this about? --Striver 01:25, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

See above; it's not me. —Psychonaut 17:17, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

JarlaxleArtemis unbanned

Just a heads up...you had participated in the arbitration case against JarlaxleArtemis. Linuxbeak has since unbanned him, saying that Jarlaxle had apologized. Just wanted to make sure you knew. Ral315 (talk) 09:42, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
