Welcome!

Hello, Purrum, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for your contributions; you seem to be off to a good start except for a couple of things- If you add information you have provide a reference for it to be verifiable, and you may not copy information from copyright sources, otherwise all your hard work tends to vanish after a short time (That was the reason I havent copied scores etc from Full Points Footy et al. when I was editing/creating pages on the country leagues). Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics! If you need help on how to title new articles, see the naming conventions, and for help on formatting pages, visit the manual of style. For general questions, go to Wikipedia:Help or the FAQ; if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to ask me directly on my user talk page.

Additional tips

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

Be bold

Be bold in updating pages! You can find instantaneous help any time simply by typing {{help}} anywhere on your own user or user talk page.
You can find me at my user page or talk page for any questions. Happy editing.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on South Purrumbete Football Club, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because South Purrumbete Football Club seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting South Purrumbete Football Club, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 02:50, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Barwon Heads Football Club, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Ocean Grove Football Club. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Barwon Heads Football Club

A tag has been placed on Barwon Heads Football Club requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article consists of a dictionary definition or other article that has been transwikied to another project and the author information recorded.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Edit summaries

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, as you forgot on your recent edit to Matthew Lloyd. - especially when you (quite rightly) do a big cull. An -11000 byte change without a edit summary looks very much like vandalism, until you check the diff! The-Pope (talk) 03:27, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Panton Hill Football League

A tag has been placed on Panton Hill Football League requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

ABS template

Hi, I see you have been adding 2001 ABS data to articles on Victorian town articles. You may wish to consider using the template {{Census 2001 AUS}} for this task.

The template has two advantages:

  • It means that you don't have to copy a long URL into the article, merely the ABS ID
  • If the ABS change the layout of the site, it allows us to edit the template to fix the link, rather than fixing every article individually.

A blank version of the template is below if you find it easier to copy and paste into articles.

<ref name="ABS">{{Census 2006 AUS
|id=
|name=
|accessdate=
|quick=on}}</ref>

Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Mattinbgn\talk 02:46, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Simpson

Good to see your article on Simpson- Do you intend to continue with Cooriemungle (including the prison farm) and Jancourt East (and other locs??) which I think were part of the same scheme?? (Epistemos (talk) 11:02, 14 July 2009 (UTC)).[reply]

A tag has been placed on Michael Flanagan (murderer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Proposed deletion of George David Silva

The article George David Silva has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable person, only known for a single act of murder (even if it was a multiple one).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Proposed deletion of Michael Flanagan (murderer)

The article Michael Flanagan (murderer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only claim to notability is the fact that this person committed a murder, which is (unfortunately) all too common and in the absence of other evidence, Flanagan does not meet WP:N.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

ani notice

Hello, Purrum. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. --Jayron32 05:47, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mount Warrnambool requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. andy (talk) 11:31, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rann

Regarding this edit, I probably agree with you. However, unless you make such a statement on the Talk:Mike Rann page itself, I suspect almost no-one will notice.
I suggest you start a new topic on Talk:Mike Rann. If you are not comfortable doing that, I'm more than happy to help, or to actually do it for you if you wish. Your choice.

Your addition to Jarrod Kayler-Thomson has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
