NickToons Network, originally known as NickToons TV, is a digital cable and satellite television network. It is a sister service of the Nickelodeon cable channel. Its original programming consists entirely of animated cartoons previously or currently broadcasted on its parent network. It was launched on May 1, 2002, at first only available on digital cable until early 2004, when it began its broadcast on satellite television as well. This network is similar to Toon Disney and Cartoon Network.

In February 2005, Nickelodeon announced that NickToons would become ad-supported (that is, it would begin airing commercials), in August 2005. The network has also announced plans to premiere four original series on NickToons in early 2006.

NickToons TV re-launched itself on September 23, 2005, changing its name to NickToons Network, introducing a new logo of a globe with the familiar Nickelodeon "Splat" that had been a Nick trademark since that network re-launched in 1985, and adapted a Hollywood-esque theme and a new, boastful campaign slogan of "Animation Capital of the World."

NickToons TV was also launched in the United Kingdom in July of 2002, although, unlike the United States version, it has been ad-supported since it launched.

List of programs broadcast on Nicktoons Network

Nicktoons Network airs or had aired every Nickelodeon-produced animated series that premiered on Nickelodeon. Nicktoons has also shown some non-Nicktoons produced by Steven Spielberg for Warner Bros. Animation, which Nickelodeon had rights to at the time the network was launched, and international shows such as Corneil and Bernie, Martin Mystery, and various Nelvana and Teletoon fare.

Nicktoons Network also takes off a few "library" shows that are also in heavy rotation on other MTV Networks outlets or to rest them from viewer rot. The Ren and Stimpy Show was taken off the network after it had started airing on Spike TV, but returned around July 30, 2005. The Angry Beavers was removed from Nicktoons in Spring 2005, returning later in June 2005. As of January 2006, original Nicktoons Doug, The Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, and Chalkzone are off the air on Nicktoons Network.
