Opened by the [[Taff Vale Railway]] it became part of the [[Great Western Railway]] during the [[Railways Act 1921|Grouping]] of 1923. It was then closed by them seven years later.

==The site today==

The site is now a wooded area next to the former site of the [[Aberthaw High Level railway station|High Level]] station. Passenger trains pass there on the [[Vale of Glamorgan]] line and freight trains for [[Aberthaw Power Station]]. There is no station at Aberthaw now.

Aberthaw Low Level railway station was the Taff Vale Railway station which served Aberthaw, located near the north shore of the Bristol Channel in the Welsh county of Glamorganshire.
