Michael Thomas Modano, Jr.(born June 7 1970, in Livonia, Michigan) is a professional Ice Hockey Center in the NHL, playing for the Dallas Stars. He is widely considered one of the best, perhaps even the best, United States-born players in hockey history.

Modano has played all 15 of his NHL seasons with the Dallas Stars/Minnesota North Stars franchise (10 seasons with Dallas). He won the Stanley Cup in 1999. His best seasons were in 1992-93 and 1993-94 when he had 93 points each.

In 1988, he became the second of three American born players to be selected first in the draft. (Brian Lawton (1983) and Bryan Berard (1995) being the other two)
