Biography
Ira Losco was born 31 July 1981 in Sliema, Malta. Her career started in 1997 when she joined a college band, named Tiara. They released a track called "Teleport Me" for the Green Label Collection CD, and an album called "Hi-Infidelity" in 2001, which included tracks like "Basketball" which is their biggest hit.
Late in 2001, Ira also released an album called "Butterfly", which included hits like "Summerbreeze" featuring top Maltese dj J.Joy & "Butterfly" featuring top Maltese rapper IQ, which is a cover version of Claudette Pace's entry for the Malta Song For Europe 1996. Tiara split up a few months after Ira Losco represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 which was held in Tallinn. She placed 2nd with her song 7th Wonder. In 2003, she was chosen to perform the song called "Reaching Higher" which was the official song of the Xth Games of the Small States of Europe Malta 2003.
April 19 2004, Ira released her album "Someone Else" which was more her style than her Eurovision Entry & "Butterfly" were- she was back to her original pop-rock/alternative style that she had with Tiara. On June 28 2004, Ira launched her second music video (after 7th Wonder) for the track "I'm In Love Again".
January 28 2005, the remix album of "Someone Else", named "Blends & Remixes of Someone Else" was released. It included remixes by Top DJ's including DJ Ruby, Miss Roberta & Joseph Armani to name just a few.
After winning more awards, more appearances on TV, more magazine covers, tours with top artists like Elton John, Katie Melua & Melanie C, she released the single of "Get Out" in Germany, and also released "Everyday" as a radio track in Malta.
November 16 2005 - it was a date much awaited by her fans - Her third album named "Accident Prone" was released. It included 9 brand new tracks, "Get Out", "Everyday" and a cover version of Lisa Miskovsky's "Driving One Of Your Cars". It topped the charts on the island. More news about her latest gigs & also her official biography can be seen on her official site, listed underneath.
