Template:South Park character Big Gay Al is a fictional character on the show South Park, voiced by Trey Parker and occasionally by Matt Stone.

Big Gay Al is a stereotypical gay man. He runs an animal farm for gay animals who have been rejected by homophobic pet owners. In "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride," he temporarily adopted Sparky, Stan's gay dog, who had run away from home. Later on in the episode, his large shelter had vanished, but the various animals remained, and were adopted by their former owners who had missed them greatly.

He also appeared in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, entertaining U.S. troops. He sang the song "I'm Super" whilst the kids tried to free Terrance and Phillip.

In "Cripple Fight," he was the leader of a scouting troop which included Stan, Cartman, Kenny, Butters, Jimmy and Timmy; however, their parents were uneasy about a gay scout leader, and (parodying the Boy Scout controversy) the club fired him and replaced him by "Mr. Slippyfists," a macho man who turned out to be a child molestor, taking nude photographs of all the children. The boys rallied to get him back, and Gloria Allred and others forced the Scouts to reaccept him; however, he wound up rejecting this, saying he knew the Scout leaders were still good men, and just as he had the right to express himself as a gay man, they should have the right to exclude people if they chose to. He did say he would continue to try to convince them to let him in, but as far as we know he never succeeded.

Big Gay Al eventually started up a relationship with Mr. Slave, the former boyfriend of Mr. Garrison; the two broke up when the latter got a sex change, and Al and Slave were soon engaged. Mrs. Garrison (former Mr.) swore (s)he would stop gay marriage in "Follow That Egg!," because (s)he wanted Mr. Slave back; when (s)he failed, Al and Slave wed.
