Image copyright problem with Image:Blackmoon2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Blackmoon2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hello
Hello, I noticed you edited a Hip Hop related article. If you wish you can join the new Hip Hop Wikiproject. --Chubdub 16:03, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Enta Da StageEnta Da Stage is, in my opinion, one of the greatest hip hop albums to come out of the East Coast Renaissance. It is in dire need of expansion, but I am unable to work on it seeing as I have little time to do so. So I was wondering if you could include these points into the article.

License tagging for Image:Abovethelawpic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Abovethelawpic.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Musical artist template.
Hello. I've noticed that you've coded a lot of music infoboxes with a gray color, reguardless of the type of artist or act. When using Template:Infobox musical artist 2, please be sure to give each box a color based upon the guidelines for the box's use:
The infobox is color-coded to provide a quick indication of the type of group/performer, e.g. solo artist, orchestra, etc. This is similar to the color schemes used by Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums and other projects. Please discuss additional types that need to be accounted for on the talk page.
The user doesn't choose the colors directly: he simply specifies a name which identifies the type of performer, and is indicated, on each bar, in the table below.
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|solo_singer | All vocal solo artists (includes singer-songwriters and singer-instrumentalists) |
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|non_vocal_instrumentalist | All non-vocal instrumentalists |
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|non_performing_personnel | All producers, songwriters, arrangers, engineers, and other non-performing personnel |
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|group_or_band | All groups, bands, crews, or other non-classical music ensembles |
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|cover_band | Cover and tribute bands (same as Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums' color for covers/tribute albums) |
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|classical_ensemble | All orchestras and other classical music ensembles |
bgcolor="Template:Infobox musical artist 2/color selector"|temporary | Temporary collaborative projects |

re: "..."
If I place a cleanup tag on an article, it's almost always because the article isn't properly formtatted or needs significant revision so that it is of a professional encyclopedic tone. If there is a specific glaring problem unique to that article besides the ususal "it's not written very well", I will state such on the talk page. Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:Article development for tips on exactly what to do for each article. Thank you. --FuriousFreddy 14:27, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

"Enta Da Stage"
Look on the article's talk page for a brief review. Lincher 17:08, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Good work! BIG improvment. Couple of isssues (1) You need to combine the tracklisting and sample sections into one. I suggest inserting a "Sample/Other notes" column in the chart you have in the tracklisting (see Illmatic's tracklisting for reference) (2) and you have to reduce the informal tone and weasel words. Other than that, good work. I suggest that once these things are completed, you put this article up for peer review, and then nominate it for Featured Article Status. Chubdub 21:10, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Lemme put it this way...try to make the article more like an encyclopediec entry rather than an album review (and make words like didn't into did not). Chubdub 19:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Enta Da Stage
Hi there, PDTantisocial! I was wondering why you reverted my edits to the infobox in Enta Da Stage. Thanks! 69.116.150.174 16:33, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
OK, thanks. I was just going by what the article text said, and noticed that the stars didn't match the rating. Feel free to revert! 69.116.150.174 01:05, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Fair use images
First, good work on Enta Da Stage; although it still needs some work to be featured, it's a good article. I'm posting here because I noticed that you have a lot of fair use images on your userpage; you might want to take a look at the fair use policy, which states that fair use images should be used only in articles. --RobthTalk 12:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the input and for the props. As for the fair use, I don't really give a shit, I'm not much of a stickler for the strict little policies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PDTantisocial (talk • contribs)
- It does seem like a "strict little policy" in a way (and I'll admit I feel a little sheepish about bugging you about it) but we do have the policy for a reason, and that is that we're trying to write an encyclopedia here, and use of fair use on userpages creates the potential for more harm than good to the encyclopedia. It benefits the project to be, and to be perceived as, a responsible follower of copyright law, and it isn't too great of a burden on us editors to minimize noncompliance on our parts. Avoiding misuse of fair use is a fairly easy litte thing that we as contributors can do to help the project; accordingly, I hope you'll consider removing the images. --RobthTalk 03:33, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Zionicrew.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Zionicrew.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 19:22, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Whats up? Hi, I'm trying to gather some more interest and support for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Punk music. Please check out the topics and lets get our WikiProject to function better. Recently, I've taken an interest in the Wikipedia:WikiProject hip hop and I consider that WikiProject to be better developed. I am now writing to usernames on the hiphopWP who might be interested in helping with the punkmusicWP. Hopefully we can all work together to improve articles relating to punk as has been done well with hip hop. Finally, I am trying to gather support and opinions concerning the punk house article and specifically the Theta Beta Potata article which is currently in AfD (x2) at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Theta Beta Potata (second nomination). Please check it out and voice your opinion. Xsxex 09:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

PS- Geto Boys are the shit.
Song Samples
Yo pdt, i saw the song samples that you added to the Talib Kweli article and i want to do the same thing for a bunch of other articles. Where are you getting these "copywritten" samples from? I want to get some for the Enter The Wu-Tang article. I've been working on that and could get it to featured status in a couple of weeks.
And a big fuck you to you too.
Thanks for the tip, douche bag. Bueller 007 07:47, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

How's about you read what you agree to every time you hit the submit button:
Please note:
- If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it.
If you don't like it, revert it.
And BTW, if you had bothered to check, I *did* update ALL of the links to that page, except ONE. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brand_Nubian&action=history http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sadat_X&action=history http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Experience_%26_Education&action=history
The *one* page I didn't "fuck with" was your own personal user page, because I generally don't fuck with other people's private pages.
So stop being a whiny bitch and piss off. Bueller 007 08:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

As you can see from the three links above, I fixed *all of the links to Black October except the one on your personal page*.
- You* moved the page from Black October (Album) to Black October (album). *That* is what broke the other links. Bueller 007 08:14, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Well then, even assuming that I did accidentally break some of the links, you still don't have a reason to use profanity on my talk page. You're supposed to be assuming good faith amongst Wiki edits.
And since you moved the album from the "Black October (Album)" page to the "Black October (album)" page, you would have had to fix them all anyway.
I'm done discussing this. Bueller 007 08:22, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Re:
Yea man I think I started adding the albums at the bottom of the info boxes. There might be some random pages that did it before me, but I haven't found any. Start puttin em on your pages too.--Xxplosive 02:14, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Bizarre Ride II
Sorry man, I could respond earlier since I was away past couple days. Anyway I really like what you did with the article and think it meets the criteria. I do understand though why others aren't supporting. All your references are from web sources. Its sort of like when if you see an article on a movie and all its sources are sites likes movies.com and other promotional sites for movies. You gonna feel insecure about its quality. This being a rap album I don't think this is too much of a problem. Although I do wish you used more magazine/newspaper articles for references since this makes all the reviewers feel more safer since the refs are physical. If you intrested [4] seems to direct you to a couple but I think you have to pay for most. Anyway good luck with your next article. - Tutmosis 16:32, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yea, anway what you going to work on next? - Tutmosis 02:43, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Madskillzpic.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a free image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:Nas.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Nas.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Jmt.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Jmt.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 11:37, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Fugees.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Fugees.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 10:15, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Copyright problems with Image:Gangstarrpic.jpg
Image:Abovethelawpic.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Abovethelawpic.jpg.
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link.
