You would be on better grounds putting that in the template if you created the article first and provided some reliable sources to support its establishment. LIke this one. Daniel Case 15:10, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm at a loss to understand your reaction. There was no hostility or elitism intended in my response (and you've been here long enough to no longer be considered a newcomer in any event). I was trying to help you avoid getting in trouble for edit warring (I see you've done it before, though ) by proposing a solution. I would refer you again to WP:CIV, but again it seems you've had problems with this before, to the point of having been bloagain without hesitation, and given that record you could easily be blocked again, this time for longer (Keep handling disputes this way and one of these days someone will take you to a Request For Comment, and you won't look good. Just a word to the wise).

To return to the matter at hand: what was VerruckteDan supposed to go by in accepting the change. Your say-so in an edit summary? You know, or should know at this point, that we don't do things that way. If you were to create a short, sourced article (like you did here ... well, that's unsourced (I didn't know that junction had a name ... are you sure it's notable? I don't think so)) about the new village, then there would be no need to make your point by edit warring. Daniel Case 05:40, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm sick of these petty disputes with self-important nerds.

Then just blank your user page, mung your password, take your short temper and leave the project. It's clear you can't and don't want to get along with anyone here. I was merely suggesting that it might not be a bad idea to create the article on South Blooming Grove to prove your point instead of edit warring. And I get completely unprovoked personal attacks in response ... that has never happened before with any user I've had a difference of opinion with, let alone someone I was making a helpful suggestion to.

Since there was no real dispute here between us, just one manufactured by the tone of your response, I won't be taking this anywhere. But do me a favor and leave me alone (and you might also want to create a stub on South Blooming Grove, at least). Daniel Case 12:54, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

I've reconsidered some of this based on your reaction. The mature way to "leave me alone" would have been to simply not respond — actions speak more loudly than words. I'm very concerned not only by the fact that you did choose to respond to that, but that you seemed to feel it was necessary to get in some more licks (Calling someone "hostile" and "elitist" is an attack and others are very likely to see it that way, however firmly you seem to be convinced that you never do anything wrong. Other users' behavior is immaterial to yours; it seems to me that your block was fully justified). You have also continued to attack me in the Michigan Corners deletion debate (you were able and willing to create that, which was never likely to be notable enoguh to justify its own article but left it to me to create South Blooming Grove, New York, which isn't much longer ... why?).

Since you have been blocked for this sort of thing before, I cannot just let this go. The community must discourage this sort of behavior, particularly when it does not arise from a content dispute; and when the editor in question has a tenure as long as yours and makes productive edits as you do, it is especially intolerable.

So, I will be taking this somewhere. I really hate doing this, but if you can't get along with me over something as simple as a friendly suggestion for how to resolve a budding edit war, it's inevitable that you will have issues a third time with another user.

Any further messages on my talk page from you will be ignored from this point on. Daniel Case 15:03, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Delano hitch.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Delano hitch.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:07, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia! We could really use your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Goblu and Beatosu) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Mhking 21:04, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As opposed to what appears to be a nonsense article about two names that no one would search on, perhaps an article on road map copyright traps would have been a more appropriate title, and certainly one less likely to be construed as a nonsense article. There was no intent on offending, however, when something appears to be nonsensical, it is usually addressed quickly by myself or others who patrol for such things. --Mhking 21:25, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:UMars.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:UMars.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
