Hi, I've been scrolling through the adoption section and your profile sounded interesting. I think you could be of great help.

There isn't much to say about me, but the bit that is, here it goes:

I'm basically bringing my contribution to Wikipedia because I got overly curious one day and I've clicked that Edit button and things went out of control due to over excitement. I am at the moment preparing for admission to a PhD in fashion and I thought of channelling my topic on the contemporary costume of the Muslim woman aka, the modest fashion movement, and since I'm on it, I thought that researching and gathering the info from the internet would pair nicely with contributing to the knowledge basket, so here I am, taking two rabbits at a time. My research should contain info on Islam as a social movement, basically, why do Muslim women dress the way they do and which are the influences from various points of view, religious texts, social and economic contexts, practicability and cultural sensitivity. Ideally, while gathering all the right data, from the proper, verifiable sources, I should be able to create original content on the topic and educate others on what Muslim fashion is all about, on various educational platforms. Whether it is small or large, any input or help will be appreciated.

Loads of thanks!

Hello Maraal01 / Alice,
Sorry it took a bit to get back to you, I took a couple of days off. I would be happy to help out any way I could. Sounds very interesting! Did you want to start a new article?
You may be interested in joining one of the WP:Wikiprojects, like perhaps WP:WikiProject Fashion as an interesting way to find other like-minded people.–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:45, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Heya. Thank you! I'll look into it! Yes, I'd love to write articles and I hope in the near future I will.. at the moment I'm still figuring out the editing part. --Rusu Alina-Alice 07:19, 22 April 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maraal01 (talkcontribs)

Hi Maraal01, I have had a lot of personal life things going on in my life and haven't been online a lot lately... sorry it's taken awhile to get back to you. Fascinating Friar

The Tau Award
For helping do a complete rewrite and expansion on Mariano Gagnon, OFM. I give you the Tau Award for helping write a biography on this fascinating friar. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:00, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It seems this goes to both of us. You did a great job as well - great edits and focus! So, I'm very happy to share it with you. It was a lot more enjoyable working with someone that working on something alone, so thanks for that.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:26, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem. Now to see if we can get it to GA at some point. TonyBallioni (talk) 01:17, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good.–CaroleHenson (talk) 02:03, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, apparently the used book version of Warriors in Eden I bought for next to nothing was an autographed copy. I'll try to pick out key passages that would be in line with WP:PRIMARY to add to the article this weekend. TonyBallioni (talk) 03:27, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mother Marie-Anastasie

Dear Carole, The text was revised by Sister Marie-Theresa, master of the novices from the Convent of Monteils, a great scholar of Mother Marie-Anastasie’s life and work. We don’t have links to all the information, because a lot of them were collected in historical documents of the Congregation. The sources are reliable, because they are from religious people, who lived with Mother Marie-Anastasie or collected information from the sisters’ records. In addition, the images were taken personally, by members of the Congregation of Saint-Rosaire of Monteils, founded by Mother Marie-Anastasie. Therefore, we would like to keep the original essay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosarioteste (talkcontribs) 18:14, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rosarioteste, There are too many issues to keep the original article, it took me a period over six hours to clean it up and find sources. See Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Major edits of the article.
If you can provide citations that meet the guidelines, including WP:Verifiability, with information about who published it, when, etc. that would be fine. See Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Sources. If you could add notes there with the citation information, that would be great, particularly if you have information about the schools that she opened.
There was a bit of content that was also removed due to tone, so I tried to summarize her approach in a paragraph.–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:24, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Carole,
Can we revert the text to the original? Then, we can add all references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosarioteste (talkcontribs) 18:48, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Or, I can pass the original text to you, what do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosarioteste (talkcontribs) 18:52, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Rosarioteste It is seeming that you are not getting the points about the issues with the content. Did you, by chance, read the Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Major edits of the article section?
If you have sources for the content in Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Sources, I would be happy to help you get that formatted and added back to the article.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:57, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be ignoring all the issues with the original text. I have thought about tagging the Spanish and Portuguese articles due to all the issues.–CaroleHenson (talk) 14:33, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Mariano Gagnon

On 21 May 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mariano Gagnon, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Mariano Gagnon was a Franciscan friar who organized airlifts to help refugees escape the Shining Path? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mariano Gagnon. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Mariano Gagnon), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

Hello CaroleHenson,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 818 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Stay up to date with recent new page developments and have your say, read THIS PAGE.

Hi there again!

Hi Carole, I'm back on wikipedia! When you get a chance would you please edit the new article that I'm working "JohnBob Carlos" thanks LisD 05:25, 24 May 2017 (UTC)

Manually signed, added this for username and links: — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lisdip1 (talkcontribs)

Hi Lisdip1, Yep, I reviewed the article and documented the reason for the change is in the edit summary, which can be seen in the history. If I can clarify anything, though, please let me know.
I am not sure why you added the {{BLP sources}} tag on the article. But, it's fairly well sourced, so I removed it. I did add a tag for notability, though. Please see WP:CREATIVE. I am not sure that there is sufficient notability, but perhaps you can add further information that speaks to the criteria under WP:CREATIVE.
As an FYI, you can automatically sign your talk postings by entering ~~~~ after you type your message. Then, like magic, when you save your message, it will add your name, links to your user and talk page, and date and time stamp. For instance, I typed the four tildes to sign here:–CaroleHenson (talk) 11:54, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

Carole, thank you so much for editing my article. I added the BP/sources by mistake because I had not done articles in a long time. I still need to add more to this article because this person was the reason why ROGG was stopped it was multimillion dollar project to build a road on the Everglades. I will keep adding more. Thanks LisD 12:05, 24 May 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lisdip1 (talkcontribs)

Ok, great!
Regarding signing, if for some reason the tilde (~) is not on your keyboard (it's to the left of the "1" on my keyboard), there's a wikimarkup for it on the "Insert" menu selection in the edit window, just below where you type your message in edit mode.–CaroleHenson (talk) 12:13, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Changing article titles

Hi Carole, hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you could help point me in the right direction about changing the title of an article. I know it's no easy task, but in looking at Peter Hancock (CEO), it doesn't seem to make much sense for the article title to refer to him as CEO, now that he is no longer CEO of AIG. I made an inquiry on the talk page but it never gained any traction, or was just otherwise overlooked. Any advice on how to proceed?--FacultiesIntact (talk) 19:45, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi FacultiesIntact,
Makes sense.
I see that his name is more often "Peter Hancock" vs. "Peter D. Hancock", as suggested on the talk page. How about Peter Hancock (businessman)?–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:56, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's a great solution. How would we move forward from here?--FacultiesIntact (talk) 23:20, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

communities

its rather sad that i cant leave references for the populations. but the site neighbourhood statistics has closed, i had wrote them all down ages ago. but because the site has closed EVERY population figure for places in wales now has a dead link. so what are you going to do delete all the population figures?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattcymru2 (talkcontribs)

Mattcymru2, I don't know what you're talking about. I removed the population number in the infobox of Llandyssil here because 1) it's different from what is in the initial paragraph and 2) from this edit of Abermule with Llandyssil, Ehrenkater said in the edit summary that the 1527 population was for that community and not the village of Llandyssil.
Is that what you're talking about?–CaroleHenson (talk) 15:58, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for adoption

I am new and would like to be adopted. I am also interested in history and good articles.

Thank you.Henia Perlman (talk) 04:59, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Henia Perlman. Great! Do you have a topic that you're interested in writing about now? Or, articles that you'd like to contribute to?
You may be interested in joining some WikiProjects like Wikipedia:WikiProject History.–CaroleHenson (talk) 15:09, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adoption

I am editing The Holocaust (I taught it for almost 20 years and I am retired and Western Civ. ) and some are complaining that I don't know the rules of wiki, don't know how to cite ...

If The Holocaust leaves me time, I would love to contribute toWikipedia:WikiProject History - I have always cared very much in history and been involved in curriculum development of history.

Thank you so much!Henia Perlman (talk) 15:49, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
