Pawan Kumar Joshi (born 2nd April 1995) is an Indian professional footballer, who plays as a Right Back for Sudeva FC in the I-League.[1]

Career

Early career

Born in Pithoragarh, Pawan began his career with IYSA.[2] At the age of 17 he was signed by City FC and won A Division league of Delhi Soccer Association and secured promotion to DSA Senior Division.

Hindustan FC

In July 2015, Pawan signed with Hindustan FC. He played for Hindustan FC in 2014–15 I-League U19, I-League 2nd Division and DSA Senior Division. Pawan was awarded with the captaincy of the U-19 team and he successfully led the team to qualify for the final round of 2014–15 I-League U19 from Rest Of India Zone.[3] Due to his consistent performance, he was swiftly promoted to the senior team. Pawan Joshi was a regular in the senior team and played a key role in 2017–18 I-League 2nd Division where they finished runners-up. Hindustan FC considers this as their biggest achievement in their history.

Santosh Trophy

On January 2015, Delhi Soccer Association announced the team, that will be participating in 69th Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy (North Zone leg) to be held at at Jalandhar from January 10 to 15. The team was picked by the Delhi Soccer Association selection committee after a 15-day coaching camp held at CWG Village Sports Complex, Akshardham.[4] The team qualified for final round and were put in cluster Group B which was held in Jalandhar from March 1 to 15. The Group B cluster consisted of teams from Railways, Kerela, Goa, Mizoram and Delhi state team. The selection committee decided that defender Abhishek Rawat will lead the team.[5]

Sudeva Delhi FC

Pawan joined Sudeva Delhi FC in 2018, and made his senior team debut for the team in DSA Senior Division. In August 2020, the club won the bid for direct entry into the I-League.[6]The club played its first match against Mohammedan SC on 9 January 2021[7] and registered their first I-league victory against All India Football Federation's developmental side Indian Arrows.[8] Pawan made his I-League debut after coming on as a substitute in extra time against Chennai City FC.[9] He featured in the starting line-up of the following match played against Neroca FC on 16th March.[10]
