John Sibi-Okumu

John Sibi Okumu is a Kenyan actor cum journalist who has featured in many Kenyan productions. In the early 1990s, he acted as a pastor in the movie Metamo, alongside seasoned Kenyan actress Njeri Osak Luseno a.k.a. Njeri Luseno. The movie, directed by award winning film producer Ingolo Wa Kea, endeared him to many Kenyan movie lovers. As a journalist, he hosted a popular Prime time TV program, Summit aired on one of Kenya's premier TV station, KTN, in which he interviewed the who-is-who's on the Kenyan political scene. Although he never trained as a journalist, his background as a teacher in Nairobi City Schools is believed to have immensely contributed to his impressive communication skills. Together with actors like Packson Ngugi, Tony Njuguna, Edwin Nyutho and BMJ Muriithi, he has featured in some of the finest commercials on Kenyan television. John Sibi Okumu recently starred as Dr. Nkaba, a Kenyan Health minister in the movie, The Constant Gardener, alongside award winning actress Rachel Weisz.
