Raima Islam Shimu (c. 1977 or 1987 – after 16 January 2022)[note 1] was a Bangladeshi actress, film producer and director.[1] She has appeared more than 24 films and nearly 50 dramas.[2]
Born in Barisal, Shimu made her acting debut in Kazi Hayat's directed film Bartaman (1998).[3]
Shimu's final film appearance was in Jamai Shashur (2002).[4]
Shimu was disappeared on 16 January 2022.[5] After, she was murdered.[6][7]
Early life and career
Raima Islam Shimu was born in c. 1977 or 1987 in Barisal.[8][9]
Shimu's first film was Bartaman (1998), directed by Kazi Hayat.[10]
Death
After disappearing on 16 January 2022, Shimu was killed.[11][12][13][14] Her dead body was found by police in Keraniganj Upazila in Dhaka District on 17 January 2022.[15][16][17][18] The body was kept in the morgue of Sir Salimullah Medical College.[19][20]
