Your question about expanding stubs and the whole wiki-markup system was excellent! Keep up the good work.

Welcome

Do you feel any of these articles should be translated into French? If so can you provide guidance on which ones? Many thanks. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 23:50, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nominating stuff for deletion

[edit]

Hi. I saw you attempted to nominate some pages for deletion at WP:MFD, but it didn't quiet come out right. Could you tell me what you were trying to delete? I'll try to help you get it sorted out. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 14:05, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User talk:djd (6 pages)

Group 1: Redirects to pages already deleted from a U1 request: (would be a G6 request if they were not User talk pages)

  • User talk:djd/Human Anatomy project
  • User talk:djd/Lexicography project
  • User talk:djd/sandbox/Transparent Men project
  • User talk:djd/sandbox/old Human Anatomy project

Group 2: Test edits that have been blanked, and would have been deleted under U1 or G7 but for the fact that they're User talk pages:

  • User talk:djd/sandbox
  • User talk:djd/sandbox/Human Anatomy/Old project

Of course, User talk:djd should remain untouched, as there is actual talk recorded.

In Part I of the instructions, it says to use "{{mfd|GroupName}} if nominating several related pages in an umbrella nomination."

but then in Part II, it only says to use "{{subst:mfd2| pg={{subst:#titleparts:{{subst:PAGENAME}}||2}}| text=Reason why the page should be deleted}}" with no further use of "GroupName" anywhere in the text. Perhaps it should be "subst:PAGENAME or GroupName"?

When I came to Part III, it became clear that "{{subst:mfd3| pg=PageName}} should refer to "pg=PageName or GroupName". Whatever the correct procedure should be, the instructions should be updated accordingly, to avoid this sort of problem. Thanks for your help!

The WP:USURP from WP:HELL saga

[edit]

This confirms my request to usurp the current Wikiversity account djd for WP:SUL. Thanks!

Djd (talk) 00:23, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • WP:USURP requested 07/22/2013 due to security issue with Google.
  • Should have been completed 07/29/2013.
  • Was finally completed 08/06/2013.
  • SUL request to other projects submitted 08/08/2013.
  • Completed on most projects same day.
  • Request ignored by Commons and Wikiversity
  • Requests re-submitted 08/16/2013 ... ignored again.
  • Escalated to Meta:Stewards 08/25/2013 ... see below for what happened with that.
  • Roommate has new user experience from WP:HELL ... ultimately decides all native English people are liars, and decides to leave the country. Can't blame him, I probably would, too.
  • Commons processed more requests 08/28/2013, and ignored mine again! Submitted third request, which finally got acted on.
  • Still no action on Wikiversity.
  • Stewards finally take action on my request to them 08/29/2013, and leave me a snide comment about "patience" ... really? Over five and a half weeks for a one week process, and I'm the one who's being impatient? Really??
  • ... then you wonder why I'm ready to give up on this nonsense?!?!
  • Wikimedia Foundation should be renamed Wikimolasses Basement!
