This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Johnathan A. Maloney (talk | contribs) at 05:20, 3 June 2022 (I am not editing anymore.). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Please read the talkpage of that article for the reasons why her name isn't included. There are very serious privacy issues, and repeated discussion has concluded that her name and those of her family members should be left out. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page LANSA Flight 508 has been reverted.
Your edit here to LANSA Flight 508 was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4TbmSOo3aY) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. music or video) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Information icon Hello, I'm Sangdeboeuf. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Mia Khalifa, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Sangdeboeuf (talk) 07:57, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions notice: biographies of living persons

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Sangdeboeuf (talk) 07:58, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnathan A. Maloney: Warning: The effect of the above notification is that a block will be issued if there are further additions of birth dates or other personal information without reliable sources. Questions can be asked at WP:Teahouse where they will confirm the required procedures. Johnuniq (talk) 06:58, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

Information icon Hi Johnathan A. Maloney! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 12:14, 27 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Citations are mandatory

Hi, unfortunately, I had to remove all your additions to Joseph Henry Loveless because none of the content you added had citations. Citations are necessary to show that information is verifiable. Please do not add content to Wikipedia articles without citations. Thanks, Enwebb (talk) 14:21, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To enforce an arbitration decision you have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes" [in the procedure]). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."

The block is for this edit. The relevant policy states, "Exercise extreme caution in using primary sources. Do not use trial transcripts and other court records, or other public documents, to support assertions about a living person. Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, home value, traffic citations, vehicle registrations, and home or business addresses.". Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ethan Payne, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. SK2242 (talk) 23:51, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your most recent edit at Terry Peder Rasmussen libelled a potentially living person. Do not accuse somebody of "probably" being married to a serial killer without cast iron evidence - ever. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:03, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies, I don't suppose I can get a second opinion on this? It seems rather draconian to slap down a relatively inexperienced user with a week-long AE block, but WP:BLP exists for good reason. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:08, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ritchie333, I won't disagree with you. Johnathan Maloney, it seems like all your edits here are BLP edits that supply information that is either unverified, unwanted, or both. Looking through your edits, from Genie (feral child) to Colonel Sanders to now Rasmussen, I see names, dates of births, and names of children with their dates of birth, and none of them are acceptable via the BLP policy. I do not understand why you keep making these edits, or why you never seem to have taken the trouble to read our policy, or why you never even responded on your talk page. Ritchie, I think this person needs to seriously change their ways or be blocked indefinitely. It's kind of a pity that we cannot block them from editing BLPs, because that would be a solution here. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 18:11, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Responding to everyone

Hello. I finally got some time to respond to everybody right now. First off, I did not know how bad the problems surrounding Genie (feral child) was. It just seemed that nowhere listed a possible birth name. I also am here to say that I thought I was helping by putting an external link in the LANSA Flight 508 article. I was unaware of the AI bot system and how it reverts stuff. I will do my very best to make sure that something is completely suitable per Wikipedia guidelines to link a video or article. Next, I forgot to list citation links on the edits surrounding the page of Mia Khalifa. I should have remembered to put the source there. From what I gathered was taken from reports and interviews online. I also found statements from Khalifa herself. This is sort of the same situation of the article for Joseph Henry Loveless, and for Ethan Payne. Another thing is that I misunderstood what a "minor edit" was. Since I know now, I will make sure I don't misuse it. There is also the thing I did using official documents, which I was unaware of being wrong. Lastly is the situation about the edit on Terry Peder Rasmussen. It had never occurred to me that I was making an accusation. I am extremely sorry for that, and I really mean it. From this day forward, I will do my very best to change with my thinking. Sorry if I was a burden.

Thanks, Johnathan A. Maloney

Final notice

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory or otherwise controversial content into an article or any other Wikipedia page. Sorry. The only reason I edited Larry Faircloth's page in the first place was because he was a relative of my grandmother. My great-great-grandmother's maiden name was Faircloth. I don't edit Wikipedia very often. I have worked on my family tree for 8 years now. The information was from family members that know Larry personally. I can provide some links I found to prove information that I put:

Larry's marriage record:

http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_view.aspx?Id=12579659&Type=Marriage

Rhoda's Find A Grave memorial and obituary:

Neither is reliable, nor is that a response to every other article you've edited in a similar fashion. That's why I'm suggesting, along with other editors who've commented previously, that you need to either avoid such editing completely, or be blocked from doing so.
If you want to try to continue such editing, and aren't blocked before you do, you need to familiarize yourself with the policy concerning reliable sources. When you're unsure about a reference, you can check WP:RSP and WP:RSN as well. Please don't change biographical information without reliable sources. --Hipal (talk) 21:41, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Johnathan A. Maloney: Please examine WP:INDENT and WP:SIG. It is not hard to format talk-page comments. Just put an extra colon before each line of your reply. Do not insert a "response" heading when you are replying. Questions can be asked at WP:Teahouse. Johnuniq (talk) 00:31, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning

@Johnathan A. Maloney: I will indefinitely block you if you add another claim to an article about a living person without the claim being properly referenced. You don't have to properly format the reference, but it must be included in your edit. A reference must be a reliable source suitable for a biography of living person's article. Clearly that is a problem so it would be a very good idea to use the reliable sources noticeboard before adding a claim. You would provide a link to the article, the text you planning to add, and the source you are planning to use. Then ask whether that source is suitable for that text. It is probably not a good idea to edit articles of people based on your relationships or personal research. You can read about indefinite blocks at WP:BLOCK. Johnuniq (talk) 00:31, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Response to the warning.

Alright, I was just playing some games with friends. I just read the mails and decided I will take a break from editing. I am deeply sorry for this. I hope you all have a very good day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnathan A. Maloney (talkcontribs) 01:02, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not editing anymore.

After about 10 months of not editing, I have decided I will stop editing most likely forever. Goodbye. No, I'm not dying, but I just feel like I am not cut for this. I have been dealing with stress sometimes, and I have family problems going on. You can still find me using the account, but only to read the articles.
