Cissé was born in the city of Timbuktu, located in Mali.[2] She is married to army officer[3] husband Adjudant Kader Arby with whom she had one daughter before her nonuplets.[4]

When she was 25 year old, doctors beleived that Cissé was pregnant with seven children.[4][2] On 30 March 2021,[1] interim president Bah Ndaw[4] instructed the Government of Mali to transport Cissé to Casablanca, Morocco on 30 March 2021 in order to give birth.[3]

Her nine nonuplets were born prematurely at 30 weeks, on 4 May 2021 by caesarean section and weighed between 500g and 1,000g.[2] Her children are four boys and five girls.[3]
