Proposed split

Semi-Protection

As large number of people edit the page without giving refrences, I like to propose a semi-protection to this Page

Moving the title

As the movie is a two part movie title from Ponniyin Selvan (2022 film) to Ponniyin Selvan: I should be distinct from part 1 page and part 2 page and also it should be easily identifiable. I request all the editors to follow the same, if you have diffrent opinion please feel free to talk here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Laxmanthaletto (talkcontribs) 13:25, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

500 crore budget for both two parts?

Since both the parts are being shot back-to-back, it's likely that the stated budget is for both the parts combined. The oldest source I could find is DTNext from Jan 2020 but it doesn't clarify anything.

Sources like Indiaglitz and India Herald do say that it's for both parts while the "reliable" sources prefer keep be mum about it or even copy from Wikipedia.

@Ab207 I suggest, that the article clearly attributes one source and says "X reported the budget of both parts to be 500 crore." Venkat TL (talk) 14:34, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ab207: Expand it in the article body in a sub-section, link it in the infobox with a tag See "XYZ section". - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:18, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Venkat TL and Fylindfotberserk for your input. Made the changes accordingly which may be reviewed here. -- Ab207 (talk) 05:35, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please change the budget information. It is misleading everyone and they are coming up with wrong reviews. 500 Crore for both Part 1 & Part 2 combined. Please change it to 500 Crore for Part 1 & 2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mcsooze (talkcontribs) 04:07, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

Anyone have any info to add to the film regarding the controversy over its release? I see multiple news stories ranging from people slashing movie screens to death threats and police involvement. What is causing the uproar? Is this localized to specific countries? [1][2]Kav2001c (talk) 02:41, 30 September 2022 (UTC)kav2001c[reply]

Under 'Production' > 'Post-Production' section, it states that Trisha lent her own voice for Tamil version, however the dubbing artist was Krithika Nelson for the Tamil version. Plot confusion

While the novel gives Nandini and Madurantakan as children of Oomai Rani and Veerapandyan, the PS1 is yet to give any specific relationship so far. Please edit to "Nandini as Veerapandyan 's daughter" Senthilkumaras (talk) 02:09, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
