Physics Wallah, abbreviated as PW, is a Noida-based online ed-tech platform, where students prepare for various medical and engineering entrance exams in India, primarily NEET, JEE Main, and JEE Advanced. Physics Wallah also caters to over 3.5 million registered students and over 78 lakh+ Youtube subscribers with 4.8 rating on its app.

History

The platform was founded in 2016 by Alakh Pandey. The organization initially focused on making educational YouTube videos, but has since been launched into an online platform.

On June 2022, Physics Wallah became India’s 101st unicorn by raising $100 million in Series-A funding from Westbridge and GSV Ventures.[1] The company was valued at $1.1 billion after completion of the transaction.[2]

THE STORY BEHIND PW

From a YouTube Channel in 2014, to teaching online courses for IIT-JEE, JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET and NDA exams for FREE, his intention was solely to be able to provide knowledge and ability to those who were needy. Even through some of his worst years, he continued to teach online and uploaded daily with the same enthusiasm. With the advent of the digital era, students all over India started following Alakh Sir for his teaching methods, his tips and tricks, his way of encouraging student... In 2020, while other institutes were pulling away from students, Alakh Pandey Sir launched the PW App, where new batches were started to provide students help in their students at very affordable rates. Along with it, features like Test Series, DPPs (Daily Practice Problems) with solutions and more were started which would help students exercise their learning and become more confident in exams. In the consecutive years, with ears and eyes always open for every students’ requirements, PW Pathshala was started as an important step towards accepting the new normal after the pandemic, where a hybrid model of Online & Offline Courses were provided to students to get better marks in their exams. Soon, Pure Offline Centres were created called PW Vidyapeeth, where India’s Top Faculties were available to teach students, face-to-face and clarify doubts and concepts, right from the foundation. At the same time, Modules were added to the PW App. Here, students can access features like The Library, where students could access important study material online, for FREE. Access PW Study Materials, which are physical books that can be bought to refer and study from. Students can buy these study materials from the PW App itself. While listening to the needs of students, we understood that focused and personalized attention was also required in some cases. Which is why PW Saarthi was formed in which a Personal Coach was assigned to every subject in JEE/NEET Exams. Along with it, additional highlights were a Weekly Planner, Ask Concept Engine and more! PW Khazana was added as a repository of lectures, of start faculty, including Alakh Sir himself, that students can go back to and watch whenever they want! Pocket Courses - These are mini-courses with a focused intent for students who want to have specific doubts clarified. These courses are minimally priced for the benefit of students. Test Series - PW Test Series have been created for students to recalibrate their proficiency in their chosen subjects, improve efficiency and therefore be confident when they take their exams. PW Store - Created with the intention of providing original study material to students at affordable prices, PW Store is a one-stop-shop that provides highly recommended textbooks of various authors, notebooks, merchandise and more at very affordable prices. The ultimate aim is for PW Store to become the first-thought in everything that a student needs to become successful. Finally, very recently, Commerce Wallah was started under the ambit of PW, which now caters towards students of Commerce too! Here, Class 11th and Class 12th Commerce subjects are taught in batches, which are priced of course, at extremely affordable rates. PW is now India’s 101st Unicorn Startup (with a valuation of $1 billion), made possible only by the love and affection shown by students to us. In the coming years, PW looks forward to better serving students with newer and better products and services that help them achieve success in academics as well as their lives.
