Marathon Petroleum

Hi M.nelson,

You undid the work of ESGfan (talk): "Undid revision 1065271875 by ESGfan (talk) Doesn't meet WP:DUE. Is this considered significant in secondary sources?"

ESG metrics are increasingly as important as company financials, and are direct data from the company. Can you expand on your reasoning for what part of WP:DUE is not met? Mirrorcoloured (talk) 23:37, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, per WP:DUE: Neutrality requires that mainspace articles and pages fairly represent all significant viewpoints that have been published by reliable sources, in proportion to the prominence of each viewpoint in the published, reliable sources. A company appearing in a list or database is not a significant or prominent publication (nor is the company's own website). If you or ESGfan think that carbon footprint data should appear on a wide range of company articles, I suggest that you start a centralized discussion to establish consensus first, at a place like WP:VPR, WP:COMPANIES, WP:ENERGY, etc. -M.nelson (talk) 20:45, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
