Need help to delete a revision in revision history.

[edit]

I Need an administrators help to delete a revision in revision history on a page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sellsomepapers (talkcontribs) 18:02, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have resolved this with Edgar181. Would have been happy to help, but it seems it's not longer necessary. Cheers! —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 20:46, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Centre Town, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Town Center (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 14:37, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Use of user information templates

[edit]

Would be better if you checked around a bit before adding a template saying "Welcome to Wikipedia" to the talk page of a user who is on WP for 6 years with a total of approximately 13,000 edits —Dimsar01 Talk ⌚→ 20:57, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If I somehow offended you by welcoming you to Wikipedia, then I apologize. The point of that message wasn't wishing you a pleasant stay, though, but to notify you that pages in the article namespace aren't meant for tests. I still stand by that.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 16:14, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Need some help

[edit]

I somehow messed up part of The 100 Wiki page, I have no idea how I did it (I was trying to add in missing info) and somehow everything got re-arranged, I'm some-what new to wikipedia and would love if you could help me out, thanks! -— Preceding unsigned comment added by Cxlum (talkcontribs) 13:14, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Cxlum: I get what you were trying to do! Tables on Wikipedia can be finicky and removing one seemingly unimportant character can result in whole articles becoming unreadable. I will help you add your info tonight, after I finish my work.—♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 13:32, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought: I see you've figured it out on yourself. Awesome! —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 16:41, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The whole table has actually jumped down to the Ratings section instead of being in the Home Media section depsite it being written in that section, I'm not sure how that works. Thank you for all the help though, I've definitely learned a lot today!Cxlum (talk) 21:09, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Odd. It looked alright from my perspective. Regardless: cheers! —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 09:37, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, it seems someone else fixed it. Thank you! Cxlum (talk) 17:20, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It was not a mistake!

[edit]

I just edited the Sharon Tate article without giving a reason why. I'm sorry, I couldn't find it. The reason I deleted that line was because it spoiled "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and I wouldn't want any person reading Tate's article before watching the movie (which is very possible!) getting the movie spoiled for no reason.

I will be look for the edit summary form more carefully next time.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MattPadula (talkcontribs) 00:00, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MattPadula: thanks for your message, but I encourage you to read Wikipedia:Spoiler. Wikipedia is not in the business of deleting spoiler content, so that was not a valid reason to remove that piece of content from that article. As the policy states: "It is not acceptable to delete information from an article because you think it spoils the plot. Such concerns must not interfere with neutral point of view, encyclopedic tone, completeness, or any other element of article quality." —♦♦ AMBER(ЯʘCK) 06:48, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled

[edit]

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:TVE Internacional.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:TVE Internacional.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How we will see unregistered users

[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

New administrator activity requirement

[edit]

The administrator policy has been updated with new activity requirements following a successful Request for Comment.

Beginning January 1, 2023, administrators who meet one or both of the following criteria may be desysopped for inactivity if they have:

  1. Made neither edits nor administrative actions for at least a 12-month period OR
  2. Made fewer than 100 edits over a 60-month period

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.

Pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
