The 2027 FISU Summer World University Games, known also as the XXXIII Summer World University Games, or the 33rd Summer Universiade, and commonly known as Chungcheong 2027, is a multi-sport event scheduled from 14 to 26 September 2027 in Chungcheong, South Korea. The province was confirmed as the host city for the games on 12 November 2022.[1] This will be the fourth time in the history that the event will be held in South Korea after being held for the third time after the most recent 2015 Summer Universiade held in Gwangju.

Bidding process

Chungcheong and North Carolina, (United States) were the candidates in the running to host the 2027 edition. Chungcheong was selected on 12 November 2022 at the FISU executive committee in Brussels, Belgium.[2]
