Fantasista Utamaro (born c. 1979) is a Japanese artist based in Brooklyn, New York.[1] Graduating from Tama Art University in textile studies, Utamaro is an artist, art director, illustrator, visual artist, graphic designer, textile designer, and animation director.[2][3] He uses influences from Japanese pop culture such as animation and Manga in his art.[4] He established Saizen OO with designer Mikio Sakabe.[5] He has received awards from Pictoplasma NYC Film Festival and Silhouette Film Festival Paris 2008.[6]
