Andrea Valentina Rubio Armas (born November 27, 1998) is a Venezuelan model, journalist, fashion designer and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Venezuela International 2022.[2][3] She represented Portuguesa state at the Miss Venezuela 2022 pageant and will represent Venezuela at the Miss International 2023.
Life and career
Early life and education
Rubio was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Her parents are Felipe Rubio and Marisela Armas. At the age of 20, after the completion of her secondary studies she decided to moved to Bogotá, Colombia due to social crisis in Venezuela. Andrea is a journalist graduated from the University of La Sabana with a degree in Audiovisual Communications and Multimedia with an emphasis in Corporate Social Responsibility.[4] Rubio speaks both English and Spanish.[5]
At an early age she was inclined towards the artistic world, mainly through dancing. She has practiced Olympic gymnaistics, flamenco, ballet and urban dance.
Modeling
Her career in modeling began at the age of fifteen, managing to work for well-known both Venezuelan and Colombian brands. Living in Bogotá since 2018, she participed in commercials for Colombian brands such as Poker Tennis, Bennet, Alpina Literal, among others.

In 2019 her career as a model was consolidated by winning the reality show, La Agencia:Batalla de Modelos, produced and broadcast by the Caracol Televisión network in Medellín.[6]
Miss Venezuela 2022
By the end of 2022, she finally determines to return to her native country to participate in the Miss Venezuela contest. As one of the 24 delegates in her country's national competition on Miss Venezuela 2022, she became one of the great favorites of said edition.[7]
Rubio stans at 171 centimeters and competed as Miss Portuguesa at the Miss Venezuela 2022 competition. At the end of the event, held on November 16, 2022, at the Poliedro de Caracas, Rubio was crowned Miss International Venezuela 2022, succeeding outgoing Miss Venezuela International 2020, Isbel Parra of Región Guayana.[8][9]
During her reign, she became a guest host for Venevisión's morning magazine Portadas al Día and was a co-host during the transmission of the Latin American Music Awards of 2023 for her country as part of her preparation of the Miss International competition.[10] Also, she had several cultural meetings and activities with members of the Japanese embassy in Caracas.[11][12]
Andrea has also worked with the 'Share for a Life Colombia Fundation' (Fundación Comparte por una Vida Colombia) on the 'Dignity Campaign for Migrants Girls' (Diginidad para las niñas migrantes) under the 'I Take Care of Myself, I Protect Myself Program' (Programa Me Cuido, Me Protejo) and 'I Dream, I Can Program' (Programa Yo Sueño, Yo Puedo), in the fundraising of supplies and contributing to the menstrual education, self-care protection skills strengthen and mitigation of the gender-based violence effects of adolescents living on the Colombian-Venezuelan border, supporting low-income Venezuelan young migrant girls who attend La Frontera Educational Institution located in Villa del Rosario, Norte de Santander Department.[13][14]
Miss International 2023
As Miss Venezuela International, Rubio was selected to represent Venezuela at Miss International 2023.[15]
