Udi is a Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Udi on the A232 highway. The current Local government chairman is Hon Ifeanyi Agu.[1]
It has an area of 897 km2 and a population of 370,002 at the 2015 census.
The postal code of the area is 401.[2]
It was the subject of the 1949 documentary film Daybreak in Udi.

The Udi local government area is located in the southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria, in the state of Enugu. The Igbo-etiti, Enugu North, and Ezeagu Local Government Area's border the Local Government Area's which has its headquarters in the town of Udi. Udi Local Government Area is composed of several cities and villages, including as Inewe, Eke, Umunchi, Okpewe, Amaji, Ufiala, Obinagu, and Agbudu. 259,661 people are expected to live in Udi Local Government Area, with Igbo ethnic people making up the majority of the population. In the Local Government Area, Igbo language is widely spoken, while Christianity and traditionalism are the predominant religions practised there. Udi Local Government Area has several festivals, such as the Nta, Ikwanshi, and Odo festivals, in addition to the noteworthy landmark[3]
