It is not quibbling over technicalities, New Zealands uncodified constitution does not create legal provisions for the position of Prime Minster Designate no such position exists, one is either Prime Minister or Not, it is a role not succeeded to but appointed to, please refrain from adding the office back onto Chris Hipkins wikipedia page Knowledgework69 (talk) 07:25, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I invited you to take this to the article's talk page not my personal talk page. Whether the disputed appellation "designate" is used or not, I think the infobox should note that he will (barring unforeseen circumstances or a constitutional crisis) be assuming the office of prime minister in two days. This is in accordance with New Zealand's unwritten constitution, in which the governor-general acts in accordance with the decision of the governing party. I'll let another editor revert your changes. --Hazhk (talk) 11:11, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Charles III requested move discussion

There is a new requested move discussion in progress for the Charles III article. Since you participated in the previous discussion, I thought you might like to know about this one. Cheers. Rreagan007 (talk) 05:50, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Leader of the Opposition (New Zealand)

I have found numerous sources stating that the title is His/Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] DDMS123 (talk) 08:32, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DDMS123: Actually every one of those sources uses the term "His Majesty's Loyal Opposition", but not the title of "Leader of His Majesty's Loyal Opposition". The last source even shows that the Hansard simply refers to the leader as "Leader of the Opposition". Even if the Official Opposition may be formally styled as "His Majesty's Loyal Opposition", it doesn't necessarily follow that the leader of the Opposition's title includes that long-form style—in the same way that the prime minister is not referred to as "leader of His Majesty's Government". The office of leader of the Opposition isn't established by law, so I'm not sure there is an official title as such; we can only reflect what sources say. --Hazhk (talk) 11:07, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There's an ongoing RfC at Talk:Richard D. Gill#Rfc - Kate Shemirani radio show appearance of relevance to a page you have edited on (Kate Shemirani). Structuralists (talk) 22:26, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
