Hi. Please use caps and goals for the domestic league only in the infobox. See the documentation at Template:Infobox Football biography. For swedish player that means that only apperancs anf goals in allsvenskan should be counted. Rettetast (talk) 13:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism on my user page

Please be advice not to revert any vandalistic acts of user troy. 77.248.185.98 (talk) 00:30, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.

You state that he is vandelising his own talkpage when he delet your statments, but you do the same on your own --> Halmstad 02:31, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please be advised that as a respons of vandalistic actions of troy, a respons had been posted on his comments page, and in accordance with wikipedia policy he may not remove reminders of his vandalistic acts~, and so may not you. 77.248.185.98 (talk) 00:34, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I havent removed any, you have. --> Halmstad 02:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have reverted a vandalistic act of troy on my discussion page conceirning a faint warning to mask his own vandalistic actions. Please be advised to take caution while posting. 77.248.185.98 (talk) 00:44, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the trouble. This IP has continuosly ignored the link to a guidline I gave which states that the discretion of removing comments from a user page is on the user himself. Also, the warning I gave him was not vandalism, it was a subst. of Template:uw-vandalism4im. Oh, and "vandalistic" isn't even a word—I don't see his description of me as accurate at all. Just letting you know of what happened. ~ Troy (talk) 00:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Troy is the one in breach with wikipedia policy by removing reminders of his own vandalistic acts.~You should know troy that it is your own fault that you got halmstad involved. 77.248.185.98 (talk) 00:54, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I kindly ask both of you not to use my talk page as a new ground for your debat regarding what have been said and who did what. If it continues i will be forced to turn to a admin. and i do not wish to do so. --> Halmstad 02:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I promise: I won't continue if you dislike it. In fact, I'm not trying to debate, I just feel frustrated. ~ Troy (talk) 01:05, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
...yes, I understand. No need to worry, I hadn't meant for you to get into that mess. Either way, happy editing! ~ Troy (talk) 01:56, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback

Hello, Halmstad! Thanks for your efforts to fighting vandalism, but have you ever considered requesting for rollback? It's a much faster feature than using the UNDO button. -- SchfiftyThree 21:17, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing! Dynamo

Why did you delete the incoming and outgoing transfers from Dynamo Kyiv?--Boguslav (talk) 17:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the removals you have been making Halmstad. The solution to this situation is to create a new article that is solely for a specific season, where the transfers can be listed. Look at this page: Manchester United F.C. season 2008-09; there are many clubs that have such a page, as well as for many past seasons. There are also a lot of clubs that currently do not have one—but rather than just erasing this information you could have asked other editors to create these pages, that would seem a more constructive way of dealing with this situation, rather than the destructive erasing. I would like to also refer you to this current discussion, and many other ones that have taken place on this project page: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Lists of transfers in clubs' season articles. There seems to be a consensus that listing transfers on season pages is acceptable, and I would be more than happy to show you more examples. So I ask you to be patient and let the editors take care of creating article pages that will list information about specific seasons. Stochil (talk) 18:39, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, WP:NOT#NEWS refers to a not creating specific article about every news event. It is allowed to include new changes about the subject into an article.--Boguslav (talk) 21:53, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you in principle that it is not useful to rely on wikipedia as a news source, but club changes are an integral part of what happens in time, and as such wikipedia is a unique tool to accommodate changes as they happen. Using your logic means that the club pages should not reflect that the club finished the season in a specific place, or that the results of just finished games in major tournaments should not be represented, because you can find that info elsewhere on the net. The point is that such information adds to the history of a club, and as Buguslav mentions above, it allows for changes, something that a printed encyclopedia never could. I am working on building pages for some teams in Ukraine, for clubs that I have knowledge about, and with time I am sure there will be people who will build articles for other leagues. Even you could start a very simple article that includes the info you are deleting; how much longer would it be for you to copy and paste the info you are deleting into a new page? My guess is that it would be very quick. Once that article exists, other people will be more inclined to expand it and to bring it in line with other such articles of bigger clubs. Or at the very lest maybe mark that section of an article as perhaps needing to be split (using Template:Splitsection), see here: Wikipedia:Template messages/Splitting
But inherently I don't see a problem listing changes on a club page, because I don't believe that people do it because they want to use it as a news source, but do it so that the article reflects the most correct information. I find that seeing the moves that a club made over the season to add a lot of relevant information to an overall impression of that club, and in that sense I find it wholly encyclopedic. --Stochil (talk) 01:48, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts

Please don't make stupid reverts, I changed the article for a reason and you merely harm Wikipedia with such edits, cheers. 82.47.141.134 (talk) 22:24, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't quite agree. There's no such thing as a "stupid revert" as long as the previous revision was blatant vandalism.
Next time, IPs such as you can stop acting like such jerks yourselves. ~ Troy (talk) 22:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: Allsvenskan AfDs

Okay. Do you have two really good examples of articles that fit this class? Drop me a note with those pagetitles. Rossami (talk) 13:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I've been away from Wikipedia for a while. I saw the nomination you put on Rikard Norling. That's called a "prod" deletion (an old name from when that was a PROposed Deletion process). If no one objects within the next five days, the page will be deleted with no fuss. However, anyone can object simply by removing the tag at the top of the page anytime during the discussion. Likewise, the deletion can be overturned even after deletion if someone requests it in good faith.
If this page is deleted via PROD, you could then go on to tag 5-10 of these per day until you work your way through your cleanup list. (I recommend holding it down to a manageable list so you don't overwhelm the admins who clean up the expired prods each day.
The other deletion technique that you could have used is the Articles for deletion process. AfD is discussion-based and returns a result that is not so easily overturned. To start the AfD process, use the {{afd}} tag instead. Once you put the tag on the page, follow the instructions on the tag about how and where to add your explanation for why the page should be deleted.
Since you've already started with PROD, though, let's let that run its course and see what happens. Ping me if something changes. Rossami (talk) 01:19, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
One other thought. In your deletion nomination, you said that the page is deletable because the content lacks sources. A lack of sourcing is usually fairly easy to fix if someone puts in the time. In that particular case, I would have thought that you'd use a deletion rationale that "the subject does not meet Wikipedia's generally accepted inclusion criteria for biographies." Rossami (talk) 01:26, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Deletion of Allsvenskan players articles

I have put references on all the tagged articles now. Cheers. Tooga - BØRK! 17:08, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Rikard Norling?

Instead of calling for it to be deleted, isn't it better to ask for someone to improve it instead? But well.. If we should delete articles i went through your articles and nominated some for deletion, those unimportant Halmstad players who hasn't made a game yet. Emil Salomonsson, Daniel Johansson, Markus Gustafsson & Joe Sise. You may stop vandalising non-Halmstad BK articles.. Ask for improvement instead of deletion. // KeanoManu (talk) 16:28, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mariah Milano, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Mariah Milano and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. David in DC (talk) 11:29, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So I read Under the Yoke and will be done with The Stone Dogs soon, so if you are still interested in expanding those two articles, I can help. I also moved plot information from The Domination article to those two articles as part of the expansion. Zombie Hunter Smurf (talk) 15:07, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'll wait till your done, I've been meaning to expand Dies the Fire anyway, so I'll do that first and than do some research for Under the Yoke and Stone Dogs. OK, according to WP:IINFO, Wikipedia is not a plot summary. You can read Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) if you want to know more about that. If you want an example of how to properly summarize plot in a game article, check out a featured article like Chrono Trigger. As you can see, a disproportionate amount of it is about development, gameplay, etcetera, with a drastically shortened plot summary. By adding more than a summary, you're straying past the notability guidelines. Not to mention that it's entirely unreferenced, which goes against WP:OR. My suggestion: remove all the section headings, condense gameplay into one paragraph, condense major characters and setting into one paragraph, and remove the minor characters.--ZXCVBNM [TALK] 18:17, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The source you add is far from reliable, you can just aswell add Altavista, Google or Amazon.com, same thing.

Please don't revert. See other skating articles. I am complying with standards by consolidating incomplete sections. Thanks to the new and shiny and annoying abuse filter, this was hard enough to save the page already. Please don't auto-revert based on bit count. If Gonzalo Klusener is hoax label it with {{hoax}} and add a {{subst:prod|Hoax suspected as not in this club}} or something like that. If it is an obvious hoax you can label it with vandalism G3, but this is more subtle. I cannot read the potential information is Spanish. It looks like he plays for Almagro at some point.[2] Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:04, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As I stated on the discussion page (which apparently you didn't bother to read before reverting my edits), the previous version of the article was a verbatim steal from IMDB and the TCM Movie Database. I rewrote it to avoid the obvious problem of copy violation. I also expressed the hope that someone else would flesh this out into a real article. Reverting my changes without reason or explanation is NOT what I had in mind. If you persist in replacing a rewrite with the plagiarism, I will move to delete the article due to copyvio. 71.200.138.188 (talk) 05:52, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Lanfear article

I reverted the article to the previous Lanfear version (then made some spelling/grammar corrections that I could find). 'Accurate and error free' as I initially described the reversion was incorrect - but I did feel the edit removed important information on the character. The reason I made the reversion was I felt that the sections removed were important to the article. The revision as of 09:42, May 27, 2009 had a paragraph on Lanfear's actions after being released including when she disguised herself as Selene. The entire section on Cyndane was removed as well. There were good sections added, but I don't think the sections removed were worthy of being removed, thus my edit. If you believe I was wrong feel free to redo the edit you made. If you removed the sections due to lack of references, I will try and get new references added this week (just need to find my copy of the books).Caidh (talk) 00:18, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Live updates

WP:NOT#NEWS gets the gist of what I'm saying across, but WP:VERIFY also comes into play, since it is impossible to source the official goal/booking/sub times until the match has finished and been ratified by the organisers. Next time, just use the argument that, if the match were to be abandoned at that moment, none of the goals scored up to that point would count and the article would be incorrect. – PeeJay 22:30, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Your reversion of the edit on Pride and Prejudice (which I was about to do myself) doesn't seem to have worked. Any idea why? Tcnuk (talk) 10:45, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That's weird because I get the same version as the one you reverted (with much of the content in there twice). My watchlist reports that the size of the article dropped by the same amount it grew by before, but when I view the page (either by choosing your latest revision explicitly in the history page or by viewing the article normally), I get the bad version. If I choose to see the third entry on the history list, I get the correct version. Is there anyway we can check this out beyond what the two of us see? Tcnuk (talk) 10:51, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I did a little more careful checking. I always get fed the wrong revision when I'm logged in, but if I log out, I get the correct one. This is really weird, but probably a problem isolated to me, so I'll try and seek technical support from somewhere. Sorry to bother you. Tcnuk (talk) 11:01, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just in case you're interested, I did a null edit (i.e. just added a space to the end of the article). This didn't actually show anything in the edit history, but seems to have fixed the problem. Very weird, but I guess it was just a glitch... Tcnuk (talk) 11:10, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You restored vandalism. If you actually looked at the content, found here, it is pure vandalism. Please be more careful and observant next time. --70.121.35.167 (talk) 04:24, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I know this is a long-shot, but I noticed that you were a member of both WP:FOOTY and WP:SWEDEN, and was wondering if you would be interested in helping save this list from featured list removal? I'd be happy to help with the technical things, such as making the tables sortable, adding extra pictures/alt text, copyediting etc. But unfortunately at the moment there are no sources for the lead, a problem that none of the reviewers are able to solve primarily due to a lack of Swedish. Regards, WFCforLife (talk) 00:27, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't it be listed when there wasn't a swedish champion coronated (1926-1930)? Of course with an explanation that they wheren't swedish champion but yet champions of Allsvenskan. MrChairman1914 (talk) 11:20, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

HawkShark == Reverted good faith edit ==

--Hey Halmstad, I disagree with your action. The section is titled "Ships of the MNF", not "Ships taking part in the Axis of Time Trilogy". Additionally, the omission of the ships detracts from the completeness of the article. The ships are mentioned by name as many times as the USS Garret, and mentioned far more times than that same ship. Furthermore, you also removed edits aimed to improve the structure of the ships list. Parallel structure is important and the current version lacks it. I am re-editing them in, in addition to the debate class fro the HMAS Havoc being Woomera class. HawkShark (talk) 22:34, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I understand in the case of a national team but as I said, we don't have a country so we don't have a national team but this club and its name are like a substitute of a national team which don't exist officialy. So my point is not to determine their nationalities but to inform people that this players with our flags are aramean-assyrian. It is not a case of FIFA rules but just an information about our people, so I think that it is not a bad idea to inform people about the arameans-assyrians (and not armenians like you said please), it is the role of an encycl. to inform people of the facts and it is a fact that their are of course swedish but also aramean-assyrian.
I hope you understand what I'm saying and please forgive me for my broken english, I'm not a native english speaker...AlexSuryoyo (talk) 20:27, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me with a Swedish-speaking new user?

Hi. I'm hoping that your involvement with WikiProject:Sweden might mean you speak the relevant language? Per this discussion on my talk page I am trying to explain the concepts of notability and sourcing to User:Choconights, who appears to be making an honest good faith attempt to engage with the project, although the article she's working on may ultimately not be notable. However I am having trouble making myself clear; I suspect it may be a language barrier, and from the context I asm assuming she is Swedish. Is there any chance you could help out by explaining my answers in a way she might be better able to engage with? - DustFormsWords (talk) 00:33, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I noticed that you removed some wikilinks that I had added for notable players in the Kalmar FF article. Wikipedia:NFOOTBALL specifies that "2. Players who have appeared, and managers who have managed, in a fully-professional league (as detailed here), will generally be regarded as notable." Allsvenskan appears as a professional league in WP:FPL and thus players such as Etrit Berisha are notable since he has appeared at least once in Allsvenskan. I'm sure your intentions were good but please don't remove the wikilinks in the future but write the player article instead if you find the redlink annoying. Thanks! --Reckless182 (talk) 19:35, 2 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Halmstads BK

Hi, since you're the main contributor to the Halmstads BK article, could you explain to me the 11 titles for division 1 that's displayed under the achievements section? I'm currently working on adding titles on Swedish football club articles (Allsvenskan, Superettan, Div 1 (Norra, Södra)). The titles from 1988 and 1992 refer to Division 1 Södra, however I don't understand where the previous 9 titles come from. Division 1 where created in 1987 as the new name for for the second tier, previously Division 2 was tier 2, Division was moved down to tier 3 after 1987. Before 1987, the name Division 1 would be referring to Allsvenskan and I know that the titles aren't for Allsvenskan. Are the 9 titles before 1987 referring to the second tier league known as Division 2? I can't seem to find a list of winner for this competition.

The achievement section should then maybe look something like this:

  • Division 1 Södra:
    • Winners (1): 1988, 1992
  • Division 2:
    • Winners (9): 1932–1933, 1938–1939, 1940–1941, 1941–1942, 1946–1947, 1953–1954, 1964, 1971, 1973

Currently Division 2 shouldn't be notable achievements since the league is now 4th tier, but I believe that these titles should be displayed since they were won when the league was second tier (1st-3rd tier titles should be notable). Perhaps Division 2 was further divided into regional leagues? The name of the division should be displayed if this is the case.

Thanks for your help! --Reckless182 (talk) 16:06, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited List of Swedish football transfers winter 2011–2012, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page James Keene (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Your edits to Ar-Rahman

Hi... I noticed you made substantive edits to this page and was wondering about two things:

  1. . You have incorporated a lot of Arabic text into the English Wiki article (though it includes a translation) and a lot of unstructured text just above it. Is it possible to clean this up this text to aid in its readability?
  2. . You have added a Facebook link which does not belong in the main text of the article. Would you consider moving this to the External Links section?

Thank you. Vertium When all is said and done 00:50, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tomer Chencinski

Tomer Chencinski is a Israeli national, born in Israel that lived and holds Canadian citizenship but never played on International level for Canada . He plays for Maccabi Tel Aviv without taking a spot of a foreign player . Hence he should be cosidered as an Israeli player . Maccabit (talk) 20:59, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

1.First of all every Israeli born jew holds an Israeli citizenship , 2.The only criteria for not be considered as foreign player in the Israeli league is to hold ISRAELI citizenship and only that . 3.And about the sources I hope the official Maccabi Tel Aviv site is enough http://www.maccabi-tlv.co.il/en/player/11324/

see also: Rudy Haddad and Jonathan Assous French jews who played for Maccabi Tel Aviv as Israelies and they weren't even born in Israel . For the matter of sake you are Swedish as I understand you should trust an Israeli on this matter propably I am more informed on this matter than you . Cheers Maccabit (talk) 13:53, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First of all no hard feeling It is still only wikipedia . About the issue I just want to explain to you how it works in Israel : each club is allowed to sign to their squads only 5 foreign nationality players and if the player holds an Israeli citizenship (and doesn't matter if he has another one from a different country) he will be considered as an Israeli that exactly why Rudy Haddad although he didn't move to Israel eventually while he was playing for Maccabi he was considered as an Israeli , and that should be the case for Tomer Chencinski in his case even more because he was born in Israel he speaks Hebrew and his sister lives in Israel .

see also : Daniel De Ridder although his mother is Israeli he never recieved Israeli citizenship(Holland laws doesn't allow dual citizenship) and while his time with Hapoel Tel Aviv he was considered as foreign player (Dutch) . Maccabit (talk) 08:28, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Hi. I was wondering if you would be interested in contributing articles to Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic)? It needs contributors to increase diversity of content from different countries and bring about large scale improvements. The idea at some point will be to host a National Contest related to your country of interest. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:15, 21 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:12, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:00, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
