Will you please give it {{Italic title|reason=[[:Category:Spanish words and phrases]]}}?

Not clear what you want - that category is already on the article. Kuru (talk) 12:26, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please bear in mind that many English words have non-English origins. Since "Taco" has been adopted into the English language, there's no need to italicize the word. Rklawton (talk) 05:01, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Statement

I didn't know it was protected. I was honestly gonna edit it to say that "taco" is originally a Spanish word that got adapted into the English language! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.68.0.67 (talk) 13:37, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

== Chaps, in Castilian Spanish, 'taco' can also mean a swear word. Surprised that nobody added this! 86.145.98.136 (talk) 23:36, 5 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Another non traditional taco is a taco bowl or taco salad. Where the traditional ingredients are placed into a bowl over a bed of corn chips. Brad199601 (talk) 02:16, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Miner origin.

"Others argue that the advent of the taco is much more recent, with one of the more popular theories being that the taco was invented by silver miners in the 18th century, however the first mention of the word "taco" in Mexico was in the 1891 novel Los bandidos de Río Frío by Manuel Payno."

This would make sense because English miners would eat pasties. A pastry wrapped food parcel that served as storage as well as food. The first time I saw a taco I thought it was just a pasty made of flat bread. The derivative nature is plain as day. 2001:8003:3631:7400:50FD:2CD8:8930:2A5B (talk) 23:50, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
