Quick Comments

[edit]

Just a couple of things I think the article needs:

  • There's a bit too much information about the fleet. A quick summary is okay, but a list of carriage variants, configurations and designation codes doesn't seem to have much use in an encyclopedia, and the information is better off as an external link, which is already there.
  • A bit more info on the history as well as current operations of V/Line won't go astray. For example, there's no mention of V/Line's coach services except for in the introductory sentence.

Made it more of a summary - the set consists change pretty often, and this was out of date. Wongm 01:12, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

class locomotives

[edit]

Please provide links to (what I am reasonably sure exists) links for the loco's used (A-class etc just by iself says very little) 85.227.226.168 07:17, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Public or private?

[edit]

Is V/Line to be re-privatised at some point, or is it to stay in public hands for the foreseeable future? David Arthur 23:18, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At this stage, it's anyone's guess. Lots of speculation, no evidence of any actual intention. --Evan C (Talk) 12:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on V/Line. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Major edit

[edit]

I just edited the services section making it easier for a non-Victorian to understand what a commuter service is and what a long distance service is and how they work. Some paragraphs and words were broken up and changed as sentences went on and on. Fork99 (talk) 10:02, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Very good start - under Ticketing this paragraph particular seems totally out of date as it still describes the Metcard situation back in 2008."Tickets have the origin and destination printed upon them, making them point to point, but the fare itself is based on charging zones.[1] Changes were made to the fare system, to integrate it with the suburban Metcard system in preparation for the introduction of the Myki smartcard system to cover the entire state.[2]" As I am no expert on the Melbourne ticketing system, can someone bring this up to date please.Fleet Lists (talk) 11:34, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
