No, Kepler mission choose targets from a 13.2 million stars catalog called Kepler Input Catalog compiled principally with data from 2MASS project or from other very precise Astronomical catalog eg. the result of Hipparcos mission --Pippo skaio (talk) 16:15, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
