Gary Taylor quote

[edit]

The quote from Gary Taylor ending, "...controversial and 'too recent to have been subjected to thorough scholarly scrutiny,'" seems a bit out of place now since Taylor seems to have published that in 1997 and Hamilton had actually died the year before that. Can it be removed or updated?Arnold Rothstein1921 (talk) 13:59, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think the quote is a good contribution to the article on Hamilton. Taylor is a notable scholar. You don't say why you think the quote is "out of place". I'm guessing, but if the issue is that 1997 is not as recent as it once was, it is still recent in terms of scholarship. Or perhaps you're concerned with the "present tense" in the passage? I looked at it, and I think it's okay. I'm not sure, but I don't think that your concern is that the death of Hamilton is an issue in some way. DagSkaal (talk) 17:09, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
