The Interim Tournament was implemented due to the calendar change of the Singapore Premier League ahead of the 2024–25 season. The FAS aimed to shorten the gap of competitive activity for local clubs since the 2023 Singapore Cup and to ensure that local based National Team players remained match fit for the World Cup Qualifiers in March.[1]
The tournament is played in a modified league format, with a total of 20 games played across five game weeks, with rankings based on accumulated points.[1]
All Singapore Premier League clubs bar Brunei DPMM will participate in the tournament.
