Kasapin is a town in the Asunafo North Municipal District of the Ahafo Region of Ghana bordering the Bono Region and the Western North Region by the River Bia. The town is about 30 km from Mim.It shares boundaries with Bitre/ Kwadwo Addaikrom area. Kasapin is a strategic location for trade, commerce, and cultural exchange.[1]

Economy

Residents of Kasapin are predominantly farmers with cocoa being the major cash crop grown in the area and this has drawn some major cocoa purchasing depots sited in the town.[2][3]

Kasapin has vibrant Tuesdays' weekly market where traders coverge on Tuesdays to transact their business.[4]. Different variety of food crops produced in Kasapin are sent to big markets in Accra, Kumasi, Mim and Goaso.

Aside the Agriculture, several timber firms are located in the town. The Golden Finger, a manufacturing company, is setting up in the town, which, when completed, will boost economic activities in the area.[5]

Security Challenges

The surge in illegal logging activities in the forest reserves has led to a series of suspicious deaths, possibly related to the illegal activities.For some time now, residents of Kasapin have been grappling with suspected ritual murders, a disturbing situation that has led to a heavy security presence in the area.[6][7][8]
