Hridhayame – A Tribute to the Indian Army

Hridhayame is a Malayalam song created as a tribute to the Indian Army for their role in disaster relief during the 2024 Wayanad landslides. The song was written by Kaithapram Damodharan Namboothiri and composed by Rajesh Babu K. Sooranad. It features 25 playback singers from South India, including Hariharan, Usha Uthup, and M.G. Sreekumar. The project was coordinated by P.K. Sunil Kumar and completed within five days. Proceeds from the song are donated to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund. [1] [2]


Background

The 2024 Wayanad landslides, which occurred on July 30, 2024, caused significant damage across several villages in Wayanad district, Kerala. In response, the Indian Army conducted extensive rescue operations. Hridhayame was composed as a gesture of gratitude for their efforts, providing solace to the affected communities. [3] [4]

Production

The song was produced by Rajesh Babu K. Sooranad and coordinated by singer P.K. Sunil Kumar. It was recorded at Voks Studios and released on August 14, 2024, by Kozhikode District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh in a ceremony held on the eve of India's Independence Day. [5]
