Filer is the name of two places in the United States:

Filer is also the name of a SAN and/or network attached storage device that converts network protocols such as CIFS or NFS to storage protocols such as Fiber Channel.

It is also a file storage / web-hosting service at Case Western Reserve University, named filer.case.edu.
