Micro-blogging is a form of blogging that lets you write brief text updates (usualy less than 200 characters) about your life on the go and send them to friends and interested observers via text messaging, instant messaging, email or the web. The most popular service is called Twitter, which was launched in March 2006 and became popular among techno-gurus at the 2007 South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas. The main competitor to Twitter is Jaiku.
