Susan Wefald, b. 1947, was appointed to the commission in 1993 by Governor Ed Schafer to complete the term by Dale V. Sandstrom, who resigned. She is the first woman to serve on the state's Public Service Commission. In 2002, Wefald was re-elected to serve a six-year term with the Commission, and will be up for re-election in 2008. She currently serves as President of the Commission, and is the wife of Robert O. Wefald.[1]
