Pikmin 2

Pikmin Types

Red Pikmin

The first of the three original Pikmin types, these guys are immune to touches from fire based enemies and objects. They also boast a high attack and power rating, making them a very valuable addition to any team going into battle.

Yellow Pikmin

The second of the three original Pikmin types, the large-eared creatures are immune to touches from electrical based enemies and objects. These Pikmin also have the lightest bodies, meaning they can be hurled higher into the air than other types.

Blue Pikmin

The third of three original Pikmin types, the peaceful beings are immune to touches from water based enemies and objects. They are the only type of Pikmin able to walk through standing water without drowning, they are a must for exploring wet areas.

Purple Pikmin

A previously undiscovered type of Pikmin, these creatures can only be produced by throwing a Pikmin into a Purple Pikmin Flower (total of five per flower), thus creating the new race of Pikmin. These heavyweights do not run or fly gracefully due to their girth, but the extra weight also makes them ten times stronger than any other Pikmin in lifting objects as well as in attack power.

White Pikmin

Another previously undiscovered species of Pikmin, they too are created in a White Pikmin Flower by throwing in Pikmin (up to a total of 5 per flower). These speedsters are small, meaning they are weaker in battle, but they have an extra ability of being able to detect and dig out treasures hidden below the soil! And are also immune to Poison!

Baader-Meinhoff Phenomenon

The Baader-Meinhoff Phenomenon occurs when a person, after having learned some fact, heard some word or phrase, or otherwise become aware of some piece of information for the very first time, encounters that exact same item again, perhaps several times, very shortly after having learned of it for the very first time. An example would be if an individual learns a new word that was previously unknown to him, and then, shortly after hearing it for the first time, encounters again in a conversation later that day and then, while watching TV later that same day, hears it used again, even though before having learned it earlier that day the individual cannot recall ever having heard the word previously.

The Baader-Meinhoff Phenomenon is sometimes confused with the Synchronicity phenomenon, but they are actually different.

Slow Grab

A 'Slow Grab' is a seldom performed Australian high school hazing ritual which first seen sometime in the late 1980's. A Slow Grab consists of a group students (almost always male) who harass another peer in order to obtain something in their possesion.

Technique

A Slow Grab is performed by a group of people (usually 4 or 5) who crowd around a single person and begin to slowly reach for something the person is holding (i.e a lunchbox snack). A Slow Grab begins by one of the members of the harassing group yelling out 'slow grab' in order to alert other members of the group to commence the grab.

As soon as the call of 'slow grab' is heard all members of the harassing group proceed to slowly reach or lunge with both hands for the article in the harasses hands (i.e a slice of pizza). As the Slow Grab continues the harassee becomes incapacitated by the attack and is forced to either give up the article of interest which they are holding or attempt fight back or flee from the attack( usually quite a difficult thing to as the group tends to surround the harassee blocking any chance of escape).

Defense

The only truly effective method of defending against a Slow Grab is by holding the article of interest in ones lap while folding the body into the fetal position. This prevents the harassers access to the article of interest while also drawing the process of the attack out, ideally until the party of harassers loose interest and call off the attack.

Etiquette

If a Slow Grab is successfully defended against, either by the harassee fighting off the harassers, successfully escaping the 'Grab circle' or by managing to hold off against the harassers until they loose interest it is considered especially bad taste to try and 're-grab' the original article of interest and doing so is heavily frowned upon.

Effect

Slow Grabs have shown cause severe mental distress to the victim as they can find themselves totally incapacitated by the attack. This is likely to be due to the immensely strong feeling of contemp experienced by the harassee towards their harassers as in most cases the article of interest taken from them is the most tasty treat in thier lunchbox.

Hudson Fall are a four piece indie / pop / rock band from the Wirral in northwest England. The band members are as follows (from left to right above) :

Ade Crane - Lead Guitar / Keyboard / Vocals

Dan Taylor - Drums / Percussion

Jamie Wright - Lead Vocals / Guitar

Lee Taylor - Bass Guitar

In the beginning......

Hudson Fall began during the autumn of 2005 as a result of four paths meeting in the right place at the right time. Everyone sort of knew eachother (with the execption of the brothers Dan and Lee) and it was only after a series of one off gigs, open mic nights, acoustic duo performances and several drinks in the pub that it was decided to form a band. Hudson Fall began under another name which turned out to be already in use. After a couple of brain storming sessions, a big sheet of paper and some more drinks, the name Hudson Fall was agreed upon and the history began.

The Dark Days......

Struggling for places to meet to practice and write songs, Hudson Fall were lucky enough to be given permission to rehearse in a disused and sound proofed bank safe, which was barely big enough to house a drum kit let alone a band. It was from here (and occasionally in a kitchen and a lounge) that the first set of Hudson Fall songs were written. After a few sessions in practice studios in Liverpool, Hudson Fall were ready to perfom live for the first time. Follwing some successful gigs in Liverpool and Wirral it was decided that Hudson Fall were ready to start recording.

Hudson Fall EP......

In May / June 2006, Hudson Fall recorded their first EP at Elevtator Studios in Liverpool. It was the first time Hudson Fall had been in a studio together and was very successful. The demo contained five tracks that were recorded over five days (see the music page).

From EP to Album......

The time from recording the EP to spring 2007 has seen Hudson Fall perform numerous gigs around Liverpool, compete in several Battle of the Bands, get radio airplay on BBC Radio Merseyside and continue writing new material. Hudson Fall were also forced to find a new place to practice as the safe was turned into a bar. 'The stude' as it has become known is the new base for Hudson Fall.

Hudson Fall were spending more and more time between gigs in The Stude concentrating on writing new songs and perfecting old ones. In April 2007 it was decided that the time was right to go back into the studio to record an albums worth of material. To date, the recording is still on going and is expected to be ready very soon.

The Future......

These are exciting times for Hudson Fall. The album is taking shape nicely and the band are itching to get it heard. They are extremely confident about the new songs and are sure they will propel Hudson Fall into far greater heights.
