Rock FM is a Commercial Radio station, which is owned by media company emap. Based in Preston, Lancashire, it broadcasts across North West England at 97.4MHz (97.4 FM).

They play 'The Best Variety of Hits' — essentially commercial chart music from now and the last 20 years.

It launched as Red Rose, and in 1988 became Red Rose Gold, under managing director John Myers. It was owned by Border Radio Holdings, part of Border Television.
