Cícero João de Cézare, nicknamed Cicinho (born June 24 1980 in Pradópolis, São Paulo, Brazil), is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a wingback or right-back. He is currently signed with the Spanish La Liga club Real Madrid. Cicinho is known for his combative tackling, darting runs and attacking play. He is often compared to Roberto Carlos, due to his ability to attack.
In 2005 he won the Confederations Cup with the Brazilian National Team. He was one of 23 players called in to the Brazilian squad for World Cup 2006.
In 2005, he won the Club World Cup, playing for São Paulo. After that, he joined Real Madrid for €4m[1].
In the 2006-07 season, Cicinho suffered an extensive injury to his ACL and sat out for over six months. His comeback to not only the pitch, but also starting eleven, was marked on Sunday, April 29 2007 against Athletic Bilbao where he assisted Ruud Van Nistelrooy's first goal with an incredible cross, and played a part in Ruud's second goal as well. Real Madrid went on to win the game 4-1.
He has one son, Heitor (b. 11 January 2007).
With his future in Madrid in doubt, he has recently been linked with a move to either AS Roma or Liverpool FC for the 2007-08 season.
